Los Angeles Wedding at the Park Plaza by Caroline Tran

Caroline Tran is the genius behind so many of our favorite weddings. Something about the softness in her images, the delicate yet pure approach to photography, the pure love that seems to pore out of each and every photograph. And this gem, is one of Caroline’s most lovely. With a bride that is so pretty you can’t help but stare, a style that managed to weave a Travel theme in a way that makes me want to steal every last details and a general sense of loveliness that permeates every moment. From Caroline of Caroline TranAnn and David’s vintage travel theme, inspired by their proposal celebration and love for travel, brought their hot-air balloon motif throughout the wedding for 200 of their closest friends and family members. After proposing to Ann, David took her on the ride of her life in a hot air balloon out in Temecula, California. These two great experiences were melded together to create a wedding filled with darling details that exuded the couple’s personalities and the favorite things in their lives.

An invitation suite first introduced the theme to the guests, designed by Chris Kim of Imaginate with a vintage hot air balloon model that was carried throughout the wedding. When guests first arrived to the wedding, they had the opportunity of “sending off” the couple with a message written on a hot-air balloon cutout and pinning it to their favorite destination on a large vintage map. Guests watched as the couple were wedded under a beautiful white chiffon draped altar with a dramatic black chandelier in the center as the sun set. Once the ceremony was complete, guests enjoyed cocktails with miniature flags that read “Up, up and away!” and helped themselves to a “Coffee Break” station inspired by the couple’s love for coffee! The station was filled with coffee-flavored desserts, from vanilla latte cake pops and chocolate-covered espresso beans and truffles to café latte-covered almonds. The desserts were crowd pleasers that surely went quickly! Before heading up to the reception, guests found their names inscribed on suspended vintage window panels, and accented along the sides were small, French-modeled, hot-air balloons.

Inside the ballroom at Park Plaza, the gorgeous and lush floral centerpieces displayed on each table were a sight to see. Guests sat at designated tables assigned by the couple with the couple’s favorite destinations throughout the world. At the end of the night, a surprise dessert station was set-up by Coolhaus and served guests custom ice-cream sandwiches under hot air balloons suspended from above.
