Miami Wedding at Coral Gables Country Club by KT Merry Photography

The second this beauty landed in our inbox, we were chomping at the bit to share. Honestly, we spotted it yesterday and slapped that puppy up faster than you could bat an eyelash. It’s straight out of a magazine with a couple that clearly missed their calling as wedding models. I guess a real life Mr. and Mrs. with crazy beautiful images by KT Merry Photography will have to suffice. And the Bride in her layers of Vera Wang and that hat with just the right punch of sass; it’s MAJ.  See it all right here in the full gallery.

From the Bride… Brad and I met and fell in love seven years ago at Florida State University. After graduation, I moved to New York City to pursue a career in the fashion industry while he moved back home to Maryland to work on his MBA. On what I thought was an impromptu visit to NYC, Brad surprised me with a romantic proposal in Central Park to which I excitedly said yes. I have always pictured our wedding back in my hometown of Miami, so I began DIY planning from 1,100 miles away in NYC. Spring romance was the vision for our wedding and using a vision board helped me to organize my thoughts. Fortunately I had my family, and I relied on key websites. Style Me Pretty popped up during an internet search for photographers and quickly became my main online resource. Here on SMP, I found KT — she posted an amazing engagement photo shoot that took place in Haiti, and I knew she was the right person to capture the spirit of our day.

In terms of a venue, I always knew that I wanted an atrium for the ceremony site. My idea was to bring the outside indoors and create an enchanting environment for us to exchange our vows. My florist Jose was able to create an amazing arch to frame the ceremony site and brought in greenery to enhance the feeling of springtime romance. During the planning process, my father became terminally ill and passed away less than five months before the wedding, which made me question everything. I could not have gotten through it without Brad and the encouragement of my family. Planning the wedding helped me channel my energy in a positive way.

It was important to have personal touches that were unique to Brad and me and reflected us as a couple. I wore a bee brooch, which referenced us, and I also wanted to keep it fun, so we booked a photo booth and had cute paper straws with great quotes on them like “B loves B.” The color gold became a theme that started with the invites and continued onto my centerpieces, and I also used a bunch of gold frames for pictures of Brad and me at the entrance of the ceremony. I had my florist spray paint the tall centerpieces gold, and I also I found these great mirrors that I used as table numbers. One of my favorite things was a wishing tree that served a replacement for a guestbook — I loved reading the well-wishes the day after the wedding! Though you can’t plan for everything, I have to say my special day was a day filled with everything I wanted!
