Desert Styled Photo Shoot by Megan Hartley Photography

Can we coin a new wedding term today? At least between us? Because I think this gorgeous photo shoot can only be described as Vintage Desert Chic. It just fits, right? With a hint of whimsy and loads of gorgeous sunlight – this shoot, captured perfectly by Megan Hartley Photography, has a romantic desert feel with a twist of serious vintage style. Whit Mitt Design and Events brought all that desert magic to life, and it’s all topped off with a cake you will just DIE over by Sweet & Saucy Shop. Vintage Desert Chic just might been my new fav. From Megan of Megan Hartley PhotographyThis styled shoot was a collaboration of a great group of vendors and I was so pleased to be a part of it! Whitney Mittmann, of Whit Mitt Design and Events, and I decided that we wanted to style an elopement that had a romantic and organic feeling. We thought that a desert setting would really contribute to the intimate/secluded feelings exuded by an elopement. We wanted to incorporate colors that felt at home in the desert — peaches, browns, corals, creams, yellows and pops of green. From there, we found other vendors who loved the idea and incorporated antique thread spools, knitting needles, beautiful yarn, homemade yarn bow ties and place mats, yarn wrapped around the bride’s bouquet, yarn-wrapped silverware and goblets, and a beyond gorgeous reclaimed wood ceremony backdrop that Whitney designed and built with the help of her sweet husband, Mark. Whitney’s creativity, combined with amazing florals from Art with Nature Floral Design, rentals from Found Vintage Rentals, and desserts from Sweet and Saucy, helped make the shoot so beautiful.

The bride and groom, Beca and Mark, are a real life married couple just celebrating their first anniversary. They made the perfect models, and Beca looked just stunning thanks to gorgeous makeup by Flawless Faces. The groom’s boutonniere was from Rosie as a Button and his bow tie was handmade out of yarn. The bride’s flower crown was made by Art with Nature Floral Design and added to the vintage feel of the photos. Beca and Mark’s real-life love and chemistry helped make this shoot feel like an authentic celebration of love.
