From Leigh of SugarLove Weddings… Julia and Dane dated for seven years before he proposed on a romantic picnic on top of a mountain in the Victorian high country. They easily decided on a relaxed and casual vintage theme for their wedding day. Julia spent months searching op shops to find the perfect range of gilded mirrors, fabric for napkins along with other rustic pieces. Julie says, “We didn’t have a colour theme. As I started to pick things to style the wedding, it all just fell into place and came together.” Some special touches included a J & D embroidered love heart, mismatched floral napkins, romantic flag bunting and a custom made cake topper of Julia and Dane with their dog Ruby. Julia also made a selection of jams for guests to take home as their party favours. There were many sentimental moments but one that will be remembered forever was the car ride to the ceremony. Julie and her father rode the whole way in silence, holding hands with tears in their eyes at the thought that her mother could not be there to share the happy day. Julie’s mother had passed away 13 years earlier but Julia had her wedding ring sewn into her dress so she could be close to her heart the whole day. The couple flew in photographer Bradley Patrick from SugarLove Weddings to capture everything on the day so they could have a lifetime of memories to revisit in the future.
