From the Bride… Joe and I were introduced at the Florida v. Georgia game in Jacksonville. I naturally gravitated to Joe, and the attraction was pretty much instant. After about an hour of socializing, I had to leave the tailgate to watch the game. This was only the beginning. In the weeks following, Joe made diligent efforts to get in touch with me even though he was in Georgia, and I was, at the time, working in Miami. I guess he really wanted to see me again because he made up some silly story about having a layover in Ft. Lauderdale on his way to Albuquerque (which of course I fell for), snuck me past security, and we had our first date outside Gate B2 at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport. I suppose to anyone else that would seem like an odd location for a first date, but seeing as though I’m the daughter of a pilot and pretty much grew up in an airport, it suited me just fine.
It was there that I knew I would marry Joe. He was the most genuine and sincere guy I had ever met. When I looked into his eyes, I knew every word he spoke was from the heart. The saying “When you know, you know” is so true. Upon leaving, I texted a friend saying, “I found the man I’m going to marry.” I’m sure she thought I was crazy.
Our wedding was an absolute fairytale! Being a huge Disney fan, it was always my dream to have a Cinderella wedding. It definitely was! From the flowers to the beautiful draping to the uplighting, everything was perfect! We had so much fun dancing and it was so special to have so many family and friends together. If there was one way to describe our wedding, it would be “happy” because there was so much love in the room. If we could do it all over again, we would!
