I LOVE Jenn Stark. I REALLY love when Jenn Stark sends weddings of gorgeous couples on their big day in amazing venues. That’s when all of the wedding stars align to provide us with a seriously stunning celebration to gush over, and well, let’s just say those pretty little stars aligned. From the bride… Having an amazing menu was at the top of our list for our dream wedding day. Verses was the first and only stop we made in our hunt for the perfect venue. Once we walked up the stairs and through the solid wood doors into this unique fine dining restaurant, we knew it was a perfect fit. Once a former Church, Verses has been converted into a modern restaurant. The original stain glass windows, vaulted ceilings, warm wood architectural details and statement red high backed dining chairs added such impact we knew we needed to keep the rest of our décor simple.
We are very lucky to have such talented friends and family who helped us with every detail. From our delicious lactose-free red velvet cake made by Christine DenOuden, to the custom-designed, hand-pressed invitations, including touches of red and charcoal gray, made by Kristin Kotack. Our favourite part of the décor had to be the beautiful flowers. One of our best friends co-owns Petals, and with full artistic freedom, Erin created such beautiful floral arrangements incorporating white rose, white chrysanthemums, grey brasilia berries, and forsythia. Erin also added planted succulents in small white vases to each table. “The succulents have a great grey-blue to them that went so well with your theme. That is also why I suggested the Brasilia berries. As they mature they turn a pretty soft grey that contrasted nicely with the fresh white chrysanthemums and roses,” Erin said.
Our wedding day was truly perfect. The food was beyond amazing … our guests are still raving about how delicious everything was. The memories of our wedding day will never be forgotten thanks to our talented photographers Jenn and Dave Stark. They were so much fun to work with and did an outstanding job capturing every moment!
