Nipomo, California Wedding by Ken Kienow Wedding Photography

I have had an all out love affair with the Dana Powers Barn ever since I said I Do in that very field and danced the night away in that very barn two years ago. It’s a magical little spot on the central coast of California and is made even more so by this pretty wedding captured by Ken Kienow Wedding Photography. And it is so very relevant being that the Groom is an Almond Farmer. How cool is that?!?! A rustic chic wedding fits this couple to a beautiful T. See it all here and be sure to catch the film of the day shot by Yves Huy Truong + Rose Hale below.

From the bride… Because my husband is an almond farmer, we thought a farm-chic wedding would be the perfect setting for our big day. We wanted more than anything to display a blend of our personalities, and we particularly wanted our guests to feel welcomed with warmth and leisure. After viewing the many barns strewn across California’s central coast, we instantly knew that there was no better venue for us than The Dana Powers Barn in Nipomo, California. When we took a visit to the venue, Shane said that it “felt like home,” and I knew instantly that this was where we were to be married.

With much of my inspiration coming from popular wedding blogs, I enlisted the help of a close friend and trusted her with my every thought. She was able to visualize my own vision and help make it a reality. Burlap, lace, lavender, lush soft colors, and of course hints of gold were on my agenda. I was an avid blog follower during the short six months of our engagement, and I have to admit, I started saving things into the “Someday…” folder on my computer even before Shane asked me to be his wife. If it weren’t for the beautiful, detailed content I found at my finger-tips, I wouldn’t have been able to pull off my dream wedding. I was lucky enough to have my mother-in-law make home made strawberry jam for the favors, and invitations were perfectly done to my expectations by Pleats And Thank You.

The day of the wedding, I was completely enthralled seeing everything come to life. Wrapped in the elegance of a simple sweet barn, charmed with chandeliers, and a rusty groom to meet at the end of an aisle surrounded by our closest friends and family. It was a clear, brisk fall day, thankfully captured by the click of Ken Kienow’s lens, and feelings of a full heart that will forever linger.
