From Chantal of Chantal Andrea Photography… My vision for this winter farm wedding inspiration shoot was a small, cozy, and lively gathering of friends celebrating two of their dearest friends falling in love. The scene: a group sharing a locally-foraged and hand-crafted brunch around a rustic farm table, surrounded by untamed grass, roaming horses and a cedar-wood fire. I wanted the shoot to embody a sense of winter warmth and communal closeness only found while sitting around a fire with loved ones.
Jenny Bowker Makeup styled the bride and bridesmaids with ’60s-inspired garments and diamond headpieces. She found the bride’s vintage dress at Atlas Clothing Company in Seattle. The girls were made up with a Jane Birkin look in mind. The boys were dressed in clothes crafted by Seattle clothing company Tarboo Inc. Sally from La Happy designed quaint invitations and gave them a handmade touch with her picturesque calligraphy, vintage stamps and darling radish, horse, and chicken illustrations. For a morning cocktail, guests enjoyed inventive “Lula’s Punch” milk drinks crafted for the occasion by the bartenders from Ravish on Eastlake. The drinks were served in vintage-inspired milk glasses from Anthropologie.
Rachel from Finch & Thistle brought her sophisticated and organic touch to the details and created an intimate palette of radishes, cabbage, and turnips for the guests to take in at the table. Bouquets of plum-colored flowers and blooming cabbages painted the table with pops of color that paired perfectly with La Happy’s incredible clementine-colored menus and eggplant-colored place cards. Ravishing Radish Catering crafted a rustic brunch featuring locally-sourced products and seasonal produce in collaboration with nearby artisans. The menu featured fire-grilled organic Applegate farms sausages, herb-roasted potatoes with remoulade and spicy ketchup, and a farmstead frittata with spinach, shallots, braised almonds, arugula and smoked paprika-infused olive oil. For dessert, the couple sliced into a pear-apple tart with Calvados, cardamom mascarpone, and Calvados whipped cream. After brunch, the couple knocked open a chicken pinata custom-made for the occasion by Pinyadayada. The pinata was filled with the couple’s favorite candy: salt water taffy.The incredible family at Bob’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Farm hosted the event, and I couldn’t be more thankful for their generous hospitality! Guests left with bags of locally-roasted coffee beans decorated with root vegetables as parting gifts from Middle Fork Roasters.
