From Matt Haines Photography… Amanda and Morgan were married on a very warm fall day in southern California, in the Malibu/Agoura Hills area. Their wedding and reception took place at Lobo Castle, a private residence that hosts weddings and other events. Cocktails were served to waiting guests under old oak trees, while the bride and groom got ready.
The ceremony was up a path through the neighboring vineyards, at a small clearing on the side of the hill. The view was spectacular! Guests were treated to a 270° panorama of mountains and sky.
With this great view in mind, the bride and groom decided their ceremony would be at sunset, with the bride arriving at the site just as the sun dipped below the distant mountain peak. The rehearsal night before involved recording the exact time of the sun hitting the peak, as well as timing the walk up the hill. Walkie talkies were used to cue the bride and groom, and it all went flawlessly! The bride and groom enjoyed a private dinner at the ceremony site, while the guests ate below.
The reception was on the large patio outside, and hosted about 80 guests. Toasts, the first dance, the Hora and cake cutting all followed. It was a perfect summer evening to a flawlessly smooth day.
