Orchard Love Shoot by Jennifer Bullock Photography

Apple picking season may be over here in New England, but we just can’t seem to get enough of this vintage, cheery and bright photo shoot by Jennifer Bullock Photography. And what a fun way to spend the afternoon with the love of your life, skipping through rows upon rows of apple trees, treating yourself to some apple cider and yummy cupcakes, and capturing all the memories forever. And if you’re like me (and this adorable real life couple) and are already married, don’t let that stop you from enjoying a professional photo shoot. Trust me, you won’t regret it. From Jennifer Bullock PhotographyFor a while, I had this idea to photograph a couple in love, using an apple theme with a touch a vintage and I knew that it just had to take place in a pretty apple orchard.  Since I was already finished photographing engagements and weddings this year, I decided to search for a couple in love so that I could still have the chance to create and photograph this type of session. It didn’t matter if they were dating, engaged or already married – as long as they were a happy and fun couple.  And that is when I met the perfect couple I was searching for…Michelle and Dan! They’re already married and are certainly in love, so I felt that it was appropriate to call this photo session a “photo-love-shoot”.

This was a styled photo-love-shoot.  And since this was my first styled photo shoot ever, I wanted to create this session with a DIY and budget mind. I didn’t want to go “over the top” with this apple theme, but I wanted to incorporate just enough items and ideas to make this photo-love-shoot extra special. All it took was picking up some items from local chain stores and putting my hot glue gun to work, and voila. My first sweet and simple styled photo shoot is made! I frequently communicated with Michelle about the type of wardrobe I envisioned for her and Dan and she was so great about going out and finding the items she needed to wear.  She then topped it off with getting her hair and make-up done just right.  I believe a big part of what made this photo-love-shoot into exactly what I envisioned were the results of the vintage look that they so perfectly put together.

I think whether people are engaged to be married, already married or simply dating – there is always a good time to capture the love between a happy couple, and to step it up a little by planning their session with a fun theme and detail.  Michelle and Dan were very fun and great to work with and I’d gladly do a styled photo shoot with this theme again for any of my future engaged couples!
