From Christina Szczupak Photography This adorable trendy couple from Brooklyn held their wedding at the brides father’s home which was right on the beach and overlooking the bay. With the help of great friends and family that picked wildflowers from a local construction site and collected jars for the decorations, they managed to keep their wedding beautiful while staying on budget. The day also included a BBQ which included a full hog roast, having a friend’s band play (with the groom playing on the keyboard for some of the songs), and a short casual ceremony overlooking the bay.

From the Bride… My father and stepmother were so generous to let us use their beautiful house in East Marion, NY. We decided to let the location be a statement in itself and kept the decorations to a minimum. That being said, my stepmother and good friend went to work like crazy picking flowers from a nearby construction site, collecting containers, and making really amazing arrangements for the tables, etc.

We were married by our friend, Ben, who recorded some of the first songs we ever wrote together. Cy got his entire ensemble from eBay. My dress came from Morgane Le Fay. The staff there was amazing: although my dress was the first one I tried on when I started my search, they let me come back like 8 times before I actually bought it. We asked our friend, the Love Loves, to be our wedding band. They delivered a processional that will never be forgotten. For a first dance (which we weren’t planning on), they played Billy Idol’s “White Wedding” and we were then joined by all of our friends.
