This DIY wedding is just as sweet as they come. This earth friendly couple chose local products to enhance their crafty day and bought all their flowers from a local farm to ensure they got what was in season and boy did it pay off! From Dreamlove Wedding Photography…From the minute we walked into Dot and Seth’s apartment in the eclectic neighborhood of Boston, called Jamaica Plain, we knew that their big day was going to be full of love, community, and happiness. Dot styled the wedding, which was held at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Boston, on her own, incorporating as much DIY goodness as she could. From encouraging guests to design pennants as part of the wedding decor to hand stitching hearts of fabric to string up around their reception venue, this alternative affair was stunning.
Dot and Seth wanted to incorporate as many local vendors as possible and contacted their local farmer’s market in Cambridge to purchase in-season flowers from a nearby farm. They designed pint glasses with mustaches and icons of their wedding theme, “Hearts, Hugs, and High Fives” as wedding gifts to guests. While a band played songs like “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”, Dot and Seth led a parade of all of the wedding guests to the ceremony site. From handwritten vows to handmade pennants, Dot and Seth pulled off a gorgeous wedding and we felt lucky to be a part of it!
