And with a ceremony AND reception held on a gorgeous beach (love that), beautiful florals and seashells filling every table and a beyond breathtaking sunset, this fabulous soiree is definitely everything you dream of when you dream of a destination wedding… And more. Melanie & Tim’s paths first crossed eight years ago as college students when they both traveled (Melanie from Iowa & Tim from New York) to Washington D.C. to intern. Despite their very different backgrounds they hit it off and over the course of the next year traveled back and forth between the Midwest and the East Coast to make things work. They finally settled together in Chicago, and later moved to New York City where they currently reside. Traveling was an early and necessary theme for them, so when they became engaged a destination wedding seemed to be in order.
The couple decided to exchange vows on the gorgeous island of Aruba. Bucuti Beach Resort is a small boutique resort located on Eagle Beach in Aruba. It is a quiet, serene setting perfect for honeymooners and newlyweds. It was also important for the couple to have one on one attention and help from the resort and wedding planning staff, and Bucuti offered exactly that. The wedding planner, Nashette, walked the couple through everything step by step and met their every wish, request, and allowed them to fully customize our wedding. The bride had several DIY elements, such us the wedding programs (fans) and a seating chart that were incorporated into the big day. Twenty guests attended the wedding and afterwards were able to join the bride and groom for a fun group shot with the photographer. It isn’t very often a bride and groom can be photographed with every single guest at their wedding, so that was really special. All in all, Tim & Melanie felt like royalty on the day of their wedding, even though an actual royal couple happened to get married on the same day.
