It is a well known fact that we are big ol’ fans of Massachusetts. Not only is it the home base for Style Me Pretty but it also happens to produce gorgeous specimens of New England nuptials. And I swear we aren’t being the least bit biased. Desiree Spinner Events has dazzled our eyes right off our faces with this number and the images by Hike Photography are keeping the pretty party going. From the Bride…When Dan and I started the process of planning our May wedding at Ocean Edge in Brewster, Massachusetts we were overwhelmed to say the least! We had no idea who was going to do the flowers, what band we wanted use or how to organize this event on our own. We were fortunate enough to be put in touch with Desiree Spinner Events, talk about a Godsend!! Desiree sat us down and helped us plan out what turned out to be the best day of both our lives!! DSE basically took us by the hand and introduced us to all of our vendors and even went as far as attending our vendor meetings with us, now that is what I call customer service.
Desiree introduced us to Kelly Hike from Hike Photography that, when we met, we knew instantly she was the perfect person to have photographing our wedding. She is sharp and her style was so clean, classic and amazing. We wanted to have some DIY elements in our wedding to involve the family, but since Ocean Edge is very classic and grandeur so we knew we could not do anything too rustic. We enlisted our family and friends to help with the menus and the programs. We also had Dan’s uncle who owns an amazing bakery in Boston create our cake. The cake topper were a perfect touch because Dan is a hockey coach and his family is very hockey orientated (his dad is Ken Hodge who played for the Bruins!). The most memorable part of the day was that we decided to have a “first look” and family pictures before the ceremony. The day was so emotional and I loved that we have that first look as a private and intimate moment that Kelly captured. Also, we were so lucky with the weather! It had rained for weeks and it was supposed to be raining the entire day but the clouds disappeared and our day was as perfect as ever!
