The Tannery Wedding by The Little White Dress

It’s a safe bet to say that when a wedding planner gets married, it’s always pretty fabulous.  And when Kate from The Little White Dress gets married, it’s “oh my goodness, I am so in love, this is not real, I want this wedding” fabulous.  Quite simply, it rocks.  Yes, I have been drooling over every wonderful detail of this crazy gorgeous affair for the last few hours and I don’t see it ending anytime soon.  From the yellow and grey color palette (my new fave) to those outrageously beautiful florals (all crafted by a friend of the family) to an amazing wedding cake by The Confectionista, this wedding is as awesome as it gets.  All captured by Renaissance Studios Photography, you don’t want to miss a single stunning image.  Join me in the gallery for every last one!

From the Bride… I have always been passionate about weddings. I love following trends and finding inspiration in unlikely places. I love the emotion, the sincerity, and how it’s the little details of a wedding that showcase a couple’s personality. So in October 2009, with a lot of support from my now husband, I started my own wedding planning company called The Little White Dress. He inspired and encouraged me to break out of my day job and do something that I really loved. With my own engagement in March 2010 and a wedding that we decided to have in October of the same year, I managed to coordinate five other weddings in 2010 and loved every moment!

The wedding was perfect – a perfect representation of Bryan and I, a perfect expression of our love for each other, and I think we must have had the most perfect weather ever to exist in Canada in the month of October. The absolute highlight of the day was when we had our first look session in the little park behind our house – seeing each other for the first time was something that I can’t even explain. That feeling when he first turned around to look at me – I was so nervous! It was like our first date all over again. It was truly special. Bryan should win a prize for being the most amazing groom ever – he was so involved in every step of the planning. He attended all of the initial vendor meetings, and actually had a lot of opinions of his own when it came to making decisions. It was awesome to have him be so involved – it really made it OUR wedding. He also managed to calm me on quite a few occasions when I felt like I might be hitting “bridezilla” status! I love him, and I’m the luckiest girl in the world.

Our wedding was very much inspired by the venue, and my beloved colour scheme of yellow and grey. I had seen the colour scheme in various places last year – home decor, clothing stores, and it spoke to me (as cheesy as that sounds). So once my heart was set on that, we just had to find the perfect rustic, urban and chic venue that complimented the scheme and the rest of the decor, flowers, outfits etc. followed. We even managed to do quite a few DIY projects along the way – some signage, our guestbook, and the mad libs on the backs of our menus were a total hit. Voila! Our wedding came together just how I had imagined it in my head. When I look back at the photos I get jitters all over again – without a doubt the best day of our lives….so far!
