Nothing says holy-cow gorgeous like a whole room of ghost chairs. And the only way that these sleek hiney holders could possibly look better is paired with a more traditional wedding fête. This Toronto beauty is a delicate balance of modern details and traditional elements all woven together seamlessly by Candice & Alison Luxury Events. And the fact that grilled cheese and french fries were served in to-go boxes at the end of the night instantly makes me want to be best friends with this couple. Seriously, how amazing is that? From the Bride…We wanted to keep the wedding small, and fuss-free. That’s why we insisted on 3 rules: No bridal party, no kids, and no speeches. We wanted our guests to enjoy an evening filled with the simple things in life; amazing food, friends, family & lots of dancing!
I had spent a few months checking out venues with my wedding planner and nothing seemed right. I wanted the space to be unique and one where I had never attended a wedding at before. We eventually decided to check out a recent event space that she used for Toronto Fashion Week. It was perfect! It was right downtown, but tucked away enough to give it that special, intimate feeling.
My theme colors were blueberry & blush – I loved the contrast between the two and actually got my inspiration from a SMP inspiration board! My DIY project for the wedding were the takeaway handmade soaps. Each guest walked away with 3 individual mini bars of soap, stacked, wrapped in Japanese paper and held together with organic twine.
Want to know one of my favorite and yummiest parts of the evening? The mini grilled cheese & french fries that came out at midnight in “to go” boxes. What a great way to help the guests with their second wind…I bet that helped contribute to at least 2 more hours of dancing that night!
