Wagga Wagga Wedding by Melanie Linklater Photography

This Compton Big Springs wedding by Melanie Linklater Photography is straight out of a Victorian love story with a little bit of the old west thrown in.  One thing for sure it is all romance from the bride’s gorgeous lace bolero and parasol to the handsome groom riding in on horseback.  It’s amazing that this sweet-as-can-be celebration was put together in only six weeks!  Fall in love with all the romantic, country-styled details in the full gallery!

From the Bride… Rod and I were married on his family farm at Compton Big Springs, Wagga Wagga. We were lucky to have a sunny winters day, with beautiful afternoon light! We have been together for 6 years and when he finally proposed I then had 6 weeks to plan my wedding day. My parents left for and extended overseas stay a week after the wedding, so we wanted the wedding before they left.

We had to use our preparation time wisely and were grateful for friends and family who helped in bringing our day together. Our day wouldn’t have been the magical day that it was, without close family friend Dorothy. Once it had been decided we would have a country-styled wedding with Rod wearing his Cowboy boots and horses (which behaved for photos!), she would ring with endless ideas. All of which helped to represent Rod and I. Rod spent hours preparing the shearing shed incase of wet weather, we were fortunate to only have to use this venue for drinks and nibbles post ceremony. We then had a relaxed casual reception at the Garden Court Restaurant.
