Ocean Institute Wedding by Stephanie Williams Photography

The handsome couple of this colorful California affair claims they planned this to die for wedding in two months, and I just can.not.believe.it. Because all the images by Stephanie Williams Photography portray such a So Cal chic event – with its touches of yellow chevron and only seen in California backdrops – it just looks like it HAD to be the result of months of planning. But alas, their laid back style carried over in their planning which turned out to be completely in their favor – and ours as well. See for yourself in the full gallery of images!

From the Bride…T.J. and I met nine years ago, had our daughter one year ago and decided to celebrate our life together by finally getting married. I am from Northern California and T.J. was born a raised in Orange County. We wanted to have a wedding that reflected both of our personalities. We wanted something by the ocean, but we wanted it to be different. Oh yeah, and we planned it in two months!

While touring one location for our wedding, we looked down the hill and saw this super cool cluster of buildings at the end of the Dana Point Harbor and decided to check it out. It turned out to be the Ocean Institute and we fell in love. It was serene, hip, comfortable and we immediately pictured all of our friends hanging by the fire and dancing the night away, and so, the planning began. We knew we wanted a family style dinner, we knew we wanted a band, we knew we would do most of it ourselves, but oh boy, we had no idea how much work it was. All-in-all, it turned out to be the most awesome night ever. Now we only wish we could do it once a year.
