Whimsical Spanish Wedding by Browns Photography

While diligently researching countries to visit for my next vacation with the huz this little gem of a wedding came knocking on my door, reminding me to keep Spain in the running. It’s just one of those places that is so beautiful, even the photographs seem happier, prettier, and the sun just shines differently there. Or maybe it’s the incredible talent of Browns Photography. Either way, it’s the perfect place for an intimate wedding with your closest friends and family. And that’s exactly what this adorable couple did. Her dress is perfect, the flowers phenomenal, and the setting…well, you know how I feel about that! See the rest here!

From the moment Ashley proposed in central park we both knew exactly where our dream day would unfold. Finestrat, Spain is a very special, personal place to my family and to join our families together we wanted to share this with them. We wanted a small intimate day with the people who mean the most to us and as we’re normally quite private people it would have been weird to be in the spotlight of hundreds of guests.

From being a little girl I had always dreamt of getting married in that church, one dream I never believed would come true, and it wasn’t until a few days before the wedding that we received permission from the mayor! We did have a backup plan to have our ceremony outside in the gardens. Instead we incorporated both into our day; we had the service inside then we led our guests outside and stood under a circle of trees whilst we listened to two readings, an extract from the Velveteen Rabbit read by Ashley’s brother and I carry your heart by EE Cummings read by one of my best friends who is the also the person responsible for us being together. To make our day even more incredible we asked my grandma, my amazing role model, and her partner Simon to share our day by having their relationship blessed, and they accepted (woohoo!) making our day even more perfect.

The reception venue was the second we visited, we knew immediately it was the one, rustic and traditional Spanish. We didn’t want a formal sit down meal so instead we handpicked a Spanish style ‘buffet’, which meant our guests could eat just as much or little as they wanted.

It was crazy how it all came together so last minute with the help of family and friends. We didn’t really have a theme, though we did use a lot of pinks, purples and hearts in our decorations. Our mission was to just make everybody feel relaxed and for them to enjoy the day as much as we did. We wanted the day to be as much about them as it was about us. None of this would have been possible without our parents and my grandma and Simon, there are no words, just immeasurable love. And we are forever grateful to our beautiful friends and families for all their love and support. My ‘super’ bridesmaids, my sister and sister-in-law, they transformed the venue with their magic touch and supported me more than I could ever have asked for. We have never felt so loved in one day and we still can’t actually believe it, we recommend it to anyone!
