From Kelly Oshiro DesignThe bride loved gardens, birdies and sparkle, so I came up with the idea of a glamorous midsummer night’s dream. The concept worked out perfectly as the bride’s older sister used to read her that play as a child. For details, little birdies were tucked into the flowers, green sequin linens and a palette of hot pink, purple and lavender completed the look.

The bride was from Mississippi and magnolia is their state tree. I used magnolia leaves in her bouquet and on the ceremony arbor. The bride also loved wisteria, so to mimic the look I used purple lilac tucked into the greenery to create a loose, garden-y look. For the reception, the bridal party sat at one long table, with the bride and groom siting at one end under a domed love seat. For the cake, a traditional groom’s cake was modeled after the groom’s favorite guitar. On the main wedding cake, the groom’s parents’ cake topper added a sweet heirloom detail. Moss, candles, birdcages, and tons of flowers (lilac, hydrangea, viburnum, roses, ranunculus) decorated the reception.
