And I just had to include the video by Aqua Vivus Productions that accompanied this beautiful occasion, because if you are anything like me you definitely want to see more.

From the Bride… Shaobo and I met and became friends during our first year in college and by the end of the year, started dating!  After a wonderful five and a half years together, we had graduated twice (college and grad school), moved back home to the Bay Area, started working, and on the day before Valentine’s Day last year, got engaged.  We were one of the first to get engaged out of our friends, so I had no clue where to start.  Scouring blogs, including this one, helped me narrow down my preferences and set priorities for our wedding.

Photography was one of the most important decisions for us, so after Adrienne Gunde blew us away with our engagement photos at the beach, we asked her to do our wedding also.  It was also pretty easy to choose our venue after being captivated by the views and flexibility of the winery.  Everything else came together as the months went by through recommendations and help from wonderful friends and family.  Our friend designed all of our paper goods, my mom made our ring pillow and the ceremony altar.   With help from family, we were also able to assemble invitations, programs, menus, favors, and a lot of other small detail items for the wedding.  One thing I do want to note – I know that like me, a lot of brides write off having video of their weddings, especially since what comes to mind are bad, cheesy videos from the 80’s.  I thought that having great photography would be more than enough, but out of curiousity looked at the vendors in the Little Black Book in California and found Aqua Vivus.  We’re so happy with the decision to go ahead with them and the film that they captured is invaluable to us now.

The actual wedding day was so different than what I had imagined!  The forecast showed heavy rains and at best an overcast fall day, but for all the important parts including the ceremony and portraits, the rain cleared and we were blessed with a little sun and even several rainbows!  Seeing that rainbow as Shaobo and I stood there being joined in marriage was just the most beautiful moment.  After the ceremony, everyone gathered inside to warm up with hot cider and good conversation.  Despite the little hiccups due to the weather, things in the wrong places and being super nervous, all that completely melted away marrying my favorite person in the world and celebrating with our dear friends and family.
