Good morning! I know it’s Monday and the holiday weekend can’t come fast enough but we are heading full force into the week with plenty of gorgeous weddings and loads of inspiration! To kick it off we have a heart-stopping, vibrant Napa wedding from Angie Silvy Photography!
Blush, orange and green are quickly becoming a favorite color combo of mine and this wedding nails it. The flowers alone are totally scrumptious and I am going bananas over those parrot tulips! This lush affair is not only elegant but sounds like it was a total blast too with pre-dinner margaritas and dance party! There are more luscious images in the full gallery!

Nelson and I met on Cinco de Mayo at a Mexican restaurant in 2006. Our relationship was built around adventure. Whether traveling or meeting up with friends and family, we always had fun. And through these adventures, we drank delicious wine and ate incredible cuisine, coupled with great company. And that’s truly the story of our relationship today. Having great friends and our closest family members surrounding us, amongst a beautiful setting with delicious food and wine and is exactly what we wanted for our wedding day, hence our choosing The Carneros Inn.
Our ceremony was beautiful. We wanted to get married amongst nature so the Apple Orchard at The Carneros Inn was the perfect spot. We had very few guests which made it intimate and special. Rather than Pacabel or Here Comes the Bride, I came down the aisle to a piano player playing the Glasgow Love Theme which was beautiful and made for an emotional start to the ceremony. As my friend Courtney quoted after the fact, “There wasn’t a dry eye in the orchard.” We read our own vows which we didn’t hear from each other until the ceremony. To include our guests as part of the wedding, we did a rose quartz blessing. Each person was given a rose quartz stone, which holds the quality of love, as they were seated. In the ceremony, they were told that as they held the stone, it will take on their good wishes for love and happiness. At certain times throughout the night, our guests blessed our marriage and gave us back the stones. Now we have those stones in our home with all of the good wishes.
Immediately following the ceremony, every one was given a margarita as we all marched up to the hilltop for dinner and dancing, which symbolized and referenced the day we met on Cinco de Mayo. The dinner was a big surprise to everyone. While we had a delicious meal with great wine pairings, we surprised our guests with the entree and served mini burgers with french fries and asparagus, as well as a whole slew of condiments and toppings to build-your-own mini burgers. I think everyone got a kick out of it! Beyond just the meal, our dinner setting was stunning. Julie Stevens Design set the most beautiful, long, field table with a palate of green and ivory and sprinklings of orange tulips and kumquats. Above the table hung beautiful, crystal chandeliers from the arbor and when the wind would blow, you would hear them chime.
Rather than doing a traditional first dance, we did our ‘first dance’ prior to being seated for dinner and our guests were surprised with “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas, performed by our band, Keith Johnson’s All Stars Band. Rather than some slow, typical first dance song, we had our whole party out on the dance floor dancing and chanting, “Tonight’s gonna be a good night!” It was a great way to set the tone for the rest of the evening. I have to hand all the credit on that call over to Nelson. It was a fantastic idea and a true crowd pleaser.
Nelson and I are laid back and our overall look we were trying to accomplish was casual elegance. Our intent of the wedding was for everyone to have an enjoyable, down right fun time, with a non-traditional twist. I think we did just that! Life is good. We were overwhelmed with joy and love over the course of our wedding weekend. Our friends are so special to us and each plays an important role in our lives.
