From Marta, the gorgeous bride –

“We wanted a beautiful venue with minimal clean modern decorations so as not to take away from the amazing views, lush greenery and beautiful house. There was so much to look at that we felt we could keep it simple and focus on the venue, food and wine.

We had to tent the venue last minute due to cold weather so it was a very stressful, chaotic day, not the calm, sipping-champagne-with-my-girlfriends type of day I had envisioned. Nathan and I chose not to see each other before the ceremony which added to the “blur” of the chaos not knowing what he was up to. As soon as I started walking down the aisle Nathan broke down in tears. It just took my breath away seeing him and knowing that no matter what happened with the weather or tent that we were in the midst of all our loved ones at a beautiful event and he would be my husband. It just made it all okay and I was so surprised by his reaction to seeing me. Such a great moment of the day.

My mom is truly Martha Stewart and did some really great DIY elements. She had all her childhood friends come help setup the decor and they had a lot of fun with it. She painted these fun canvases that added a pop of color to the ceremony area. She did all the vases with Dusty Miller for the aisles, tables and cocktail area. She bought and planted 50 mini-succulent pots to add to the table decor. My mom’s close friend made our truffle favors and made a special flavor to copy our favorite Recchuiti Burnt Caramel truffles. My mom also surprised me with the “family tree” table of all the wedding portraits from both sides of our families which was so fun to have, it made the big estate feel like our “home”.

During dinner we took a ‘break’ and just walked back to the house and got a birds eye view of the wonderful party going on. It was such a great moment to take it all in and see all our family and friends eating beautiful food, drinking great wine in such a pretty and unique setting. It helped the day ‘slow down’… at least for a minute!”

“I truly think the pictures for this wedding fully tell the story of this fun loving, vibrant couple. Marta and Nathan were married at Hacienda de las Colinas, a private residence in Marin, and it was the perfect setting for their wedding . Their wedding was filled with TONS of incredible DIY elements; from the handmade signs, favors and table decor to the cakes made by a close friend. It was truly a celebration that felt incredibly personalized to the couple. I LOVED Marta’s blue Christian Louboutin’s and was a big fan of the Precedent Pinot Noir which Nathan is the winemaker for (I highly recommend picking up a bottle or two or heck, even a case:).”
