From the Bride Christina…

Paul and I knew we wanted a farm or ranch-style wedding to fit our love for simplicity and the outdoors. Once meeting the owners of Juniper Well Ranch and discovering the authenticity of their home we knew we had found the place. The owner had built every cabin on the property and he and his wife both tend to the gardens, horses and wine making there at the Ranch. We were both very appreciative of the wholesome feeling that Juniper Well gave us. Our colors and theme came about in a very cheesy way. Paul calls me “baby bee” and what better than a bee theme to back it up with (dorky, I know!). Initially, I had wanted bright, bold colors but to tie in the bees I decided to go neutral and make Honey and Wheat as our colors. We incorporated the bee/honey theme throughout with several DIY projects. We used honey from one of my Bridesmaid’s parent’s Ranch and gave those as favors, my Ma and I wrapped votives with honey bee’s wax & we also tied bee charms with twine to the centerpiece mason jars.

There were other DIY projects which included the table numbers and food stands crafted by my brother & using my Ma’s window frames from her farm house as a child for the seating chart and décor at the ceremony. We also had Paul’s Aunt spread her love throughout by creating the most gorgeous arbor and entry table. Paul is a great cook and we both love to eat so having delicious food to celebrate with was at the top of our list. We noshed on some delicious Southern BBQ and satisfied our sweet tooth with some pie! The Blueberry Crumb was my favorite and apparently the Jack Daniel’s Pecan wasn’t so bad either considering I bit Paul’s finger while he fed me his piece, oops!

I was also very happy that we included a cigar lounge and a bonfire along with dancing. Our guests enjoyed this since they were able to move about and mingle! This didn’t stop anyone from dancing though, we almost fell through the floor! It is hard to imagine that I would have a favorite moment considering the amount of love and happiness that was buzzing around (uh-huh, pun intended) that day but nothing could beat Paul’s vows. I am so delighted that we decided to write our own vows and I was grateful to hear the genuine comments about them from our guests. Paul and I both are so very blessed to have the love and support from our families and friends and we are thankful for how perfectly wonderful our wedding day turned out!
