We love pretty much every single little detail that goes into the making of a wedding…the flowers, the fashion, the lovvvee. But one of the things that really gets us, really makes us stand at attention is coming across a wedding that is a true reflection of the bride and groom. These are the celebrations that we can’t get enough of. The ones that we earmark and come back to time and again and Anda Marie Photography has managed to capture just such a celebration. When Danny and I became engaged, we knew we wanted our wedding to be different, stand out from tradition and really reflect who we were as unique individuals. We both grew up in Wisconsin and after moving back from Los Angeles, appreciated even more the beauty of Northern Wisconsin. The idea was to find a place up north that would allow us to accomodate all of our guests for a weekend getaway. Our hopes was to make it as intimate as possible. When we heard rave reviews about Coon’s Franklin Lodge from a mutual friend of ours and a family member, we immediately knew it met all of our needs. The landscape was a given, it was known for its food, plus the lodge was able to be rented out so our guests were the only ones enjoying the lodge for the weekend. The cozy feel of a fire burning while enjoying a glass of wine in your cottage, sitting with your friends in the lodge or taking the boat out on the lake, all seemed appealing to us. As for the vintage details, it really wasn’t a conscious plan at the start. I love antiques and anything classic and vintage. The lace dress, remnicent of the 40’s with the hat and birdcage veil came first, which set the tone. The idea to keep it more intimate and less formal also added to the choice to have an assorted collection of antique plates as well as the centerpieces that ranged from milk glass bowls/vases, to silver vases/tea pots and ball jars. The birch logs that held the table cards and menus also kept with the rustic feel. As for the bridesmaid’s dresses, I knew they all had fabulous taste and would pick within the color scheme keeping it eclectic and vintage. Many of the dresses were purchased vintage. Of course, the 1941 Lincoln seemed like a must and a perfect way to drive off after the ceremony. It ended up living up to all of my expectations and even more. The setting was ideal, but according to many of the guests, the vintage details added personality making it an event to remember.
