Nestldown Wedding by Meg Perotti and MAP Events

My favorite sorts of weddings are those that don’t follow any kind of style rules. Those weddings that layer on the personality and bring in unexpected, fun elements that totally reflect the bride and groom’s personality. Which is pretty much exactly what this next gorgeous couple did (and don’t you think the bride looks like Leighton Meester?). It’s a little bit rustic, a little bit glam, a little bit bohemian and a little bit victorian…and totally, completely, ridiculously lovely. Photographed by Meg Perotti, with planning from Melissa A. Panico Events (MAP), we heart this wedding at Nestledown with a capital H. Click here to see so many more details!

Eric and Fiona first met when they were in 6th and 7th grade respectively during a youth theater production of A Children’s Christmas Carol, though they scarcely remember one another from this time. Their paths crossed again three years later when they were cast as romantic leads in Bye Bye Birdie and enjoyed their first kiss in the middle of a crowded rehearsal studio. However, they did not begin their romantic relationship for two more years while once again performing together, this time during Grease in the summer of 2001.

Eric and Fiona kept dating thru of high school and college. Eric proposed to Fiona on July 27, 2007, in the same rehearsal studio in which they had first met, shared their first kiss, and where Eric had asked for their first date.

As for their wedding, Eric and Fiona love all things fantasy and when they pictured their big day they wanted it to feel like a fairy-tale. Nestldown was the perfect wedding venue- it even has a small fairy-tale cottage on the property and tons of beautiful fairy-tale details. They used over-flowing fruit bowls and lovely lush pink flowers to achieve a bountiful table-scape. Fiona had her dress custom-made while Eric stuck with his trademark converse.

From Melissa at MAP Events... The whole wedding set in the magical fairyland of the Nestldown garden fit the personality of both bride and groom, including the costumes & camera in the Fantasy Cottage on route to cocktail lawn area,  and in the tables named after favorite fantasy movie themes.  The decor with the vintage effects of old suitcases filled with escort card, antique candlesticks, quilts on haybails, peach & cream specialty linens, swags on the barn ceiling, pies on antique white cake stands, and homemade jam favors all came together to create the look and feel that Fiona and her mom wanted for their event – representing their own personal love of color, lace, and antiquity.

I think Eric and Fiona can speak to the fact that both of their families and friends are interested in theater. Their sister’s Going the Chapel rendition at the ceremony could have been a recording it was so good! The whole bridal party and half the guests planned a skit during dinner to a theme song in Grease…lead by Fiona’s Dad.  Half the guests joined the band at some point in song.  They were the real deal.
