Winter Weddings

I have a serious soft spot for winter weddings and Whitney and Jeff's Colorado wedding is just the kind of heart-warming stuff that keeps me coming back for more. Mike & Summer from Rising Moon Cinematography shot this gorgeous film and Ashley Davis snapped the fabulous photos. Now get ready because this couple is going to have you grinning from ear to ear. You can see even more of this adorable snowy affair right here in our galleries. But before you go anywhere, check out the beautiful work from Rising Moon and Ashley Davis Photography...

From Rising Moon...

Here's a little bit about Whitney and Jeff's fun mountain wedding. Whitney and Jeff were married on the first official day of Spring at the gorgeous Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park, Colorado. Although Spring may have officially began, it had dumped snow the day before their wedding, which made for some super cool, fun-in-the-snow shots! Being from Texas, the snow was a perfect touch for their Colorado destination wedding, and they didn't hesitate for a minute to slip on their boots and go tromp around in it! We loved their vibrant color choices, and they really POPPED against the crisp, white backdrop. They had a very intimate wedding full of love, laughter and tears. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Adorable right?? If you're in the mood for a little more high altitude fun at the ah-mazing Della Terra here are a few more gorgeous shots of Whitney & Jeff's day. We're so happy that the couple was game to get out and frolic around outside. So freaking cute! Of course, we're loving the playful pop of color that the flowers and bridesmaid dresses add to the snowy surroundings. {Click here to see all the images in our galleries}

From the bride, Whitney...

Jeff and I met playing in a city volleyball league, with Jeff playing the “student” in need of “coaching” from me. From the start, I was drawn to Jeff’s adventurous spirit, and he hasn’t let up yet! When we started planning our wedding, we knew we didn’t want to do a traditional, large wedding in Dallas, where we both lived. I thought Jeff was crazy when he suggested Colorado for a destination wedding, but picking Estes Park for our weekend celebration turned out to be the best decision we could have made (besides deciding to marry each other, of course!). Our desire was to keep our wedding simple, inclusive and unique – and it really helped to keep those things in mind when tough wedding decisions came up.

We started the weekend celebration with horse-drawn sleigh rides, hot chocolate and s’mores on Friday night – which ended up being perfect planning, as a big snowstorm had dropped about 14 inches earlier that day. On the morning of the wedding, the sun came out and created the most gorgeous backdrop for our pictures outside. Having both our ceremony and reception at Della Terra was awesome, since we didn’t have to worry about taking pictures in between, and then having to travel elsewhere. The grounds were breathtaking covered in snow, and we had an absolute blast taking shots outside with Ashley Davis (our photographer) and Mike Novelli with Rising Moon Video (our cinematographer).

The food was delicious, the music and dancing hopping, and the guests a blast to celebrate with – looking back, we wouldn’t have changed a thing. To this day, Jeff and I still can’t believe how lucky we got in finding our wedding venue and vendors – we loved working with every single one of them!
