Traditional Elegance From Pineapple Productions

The final gorgeous traditional wedding that we are featuring today is from Pineapple Productions

From the beginning, Lizanne and Joe wanted a wedding that highlighted the old world elegance and history of Washington, D.C. They selected their neighborhood church, historic Saint Alban’s Episcopal Church, for the ceremony.

The exquisite Cosmos Club, a historic social club in the heart of Washington, D.C., was selected for the reception. The French Renaissance architecture and elegance of the Club set the stage for a magical evening. Upon arrival to the Club, guests passed through intricate iron-grated doors and ascended a grand staircase before entering the ornate ballroom, bedecked with opulent mirrors and sparkling chandeliers. At the reception, guests sipped on bubbly poured into champagne coupes and presented in a tower a la Marie Antoinette and kicked up their feet to Rat Pack-inspired tunes into the wee hours.

Sylvia Weinstock custom-designed an amazing wedding cake, featuring a monogram designed by the bride’s mother and an abundance of her signature, hand-crafted sugar flowers in warm gold, champagne and ivory. The monogram was also featured throughout the wedding on all of the printed materials and a ringbearer pillow cross-stitched by the bride.

The entire celebration was marked by spring’s bounty of colors, flowers and whimsy. Lizanne’s Carolina Herrera gown, which was embroidered with cherry blossom-like flowers and branches, along with the cherry blossom season in April in D.C. inspired a cherry-blossom motif that was incorporated into various elements of the event. Cherry blossoms appeared on the custom-designed save-the-date and guest itinerary, as well as in the floral arrangements during the cocktail reception. Even the cupcakes in the amenity box were decorated with pink fondant cherry blossoms.  In the ballroom, blossoms in soft pinks and butter yellows adorned silver candelabra, Anna Weatherly-inspired china and custom-monogrammed linen napkins all contributed to the feeling of a grand dinner party of the kind this stately home would have once hosted.  After a dazzling sparkler send-off of the bride and groom, guests were offered one more sweet treat, stroopwafels made in the groom’s native Montana.

Among the many details that the bride and groom chose to focus on were the out-of-town guest amenities. They wanted to share their love of their new hometown with all of their family and friends. Along with a custom-designed itinerary of the weekend’s events, guests were treated to cupcakes from a favorite local spot, Georgetown Cupcake, and a split of champagne.

The bride’s mother produced all of the calligraphy for the wedding, including the “Just Married” sign that adorned the get away car, a vintage Bentley.

Great emphasis was placed on capturing the spirit and essence of the city and this beautiful couple. The exquisite venue, along with the decorative elements and thoughtful details, created a quintessential Washington, DC wedding.

Congratulations, Lizanne & Joe!
