It’s pretty close to impossible to top the two featured weddings that we featured today. The first, by Simply Bloom is about as gorgeous as weddings get. And the second, by Mimmo + Naz was so lovely, so romantic…I still have chills. So instead of trying to top what we could never top with another wedding, we thought we’d instead leave you for the day with some serious girly goodness in the most adorable photoshoot EVER. Day after day we see gorgeous submissions of weddings and photo shoots from all over the US, but never do we see Indiana represented. Our team decided it was time to get Indiana in the blogosphere and set up this photo shoot. Initially, this shoot was scheduled to take place on a quaint farm in Arcadia, Indiana. Two days before the shoot, the forecast predicted 50% chance of rain and as the hours crept by, the chance of rain increased. So, we ended up using our backup plan – a Historic Model Mill Building in Noblesville, Indiana.
The Historic Model Mill Building provided a rawness and almost blank palette. We felt that it would mesh well with the pretty bridal looks and our color scheme. The color scheme was chosen to obtain a soft ethereal feel that would complement the raw brick room.
Our overall goal for the shoot was to provide a beautiful image of vintage. The pieces used were unconventional and a variation of borrowed items. All pieces and ideas were openly welcomed and encouraged. After finalizing our color scheme we began our search for just about any piece that would have potential, the possibilities were endless thanks to the generosity we experienced from the community.
Some items collected included the dinnerware that was retrieved from several places. Some was borrowed from a friend, some was purchased at an antique store, and the pretty pink glasses were actually from World Market. The chairs and side table were borrowed from a local Noblesville business, Karisma, the chandeliers were bought from Z Gallerie, the cake stand and linens were found at antique shops. The mason jars on the table tops added that extra touch of vintage by turning them into vases and candle holders. The mason jars are relatively easy to find as flea markets and antique shops seem to be overflowing with them.
Overall, our photo shoot captured our goal for a vintage and eclectic look. Our collection of borrowed items worked well in the shoot and kept our pockets full! This shoot was fun because of its openness and that feeling you would get when you would score that perfect piece. Brides can learn that antique stores and a friend’s garage can be the perfect place to retrieve items for their own vintage inspired wedding.
