Riverside Wedding by Caroline Ghetes

Every now and then we come across a wedding that is truly special. You can just see it on the faces of the guests, on the joy radiating from the bride and groom, on the details that were so thoughtfully designed. And this, my friends, is one of those weddings. Lovingly crafted by the bride and groom, this is a DIY wedding thats screams style, sophistication, girly gorgeousness but most of all…love. Photographed by the wonderfully talented Caroline Ghetes, it’s definitely one for the books. Click here to see all of the images.

This wedding was all and more than i expected! I chose this style because I love the old spring vintage garden look. Since it was in the spring, we wanted to add Bird cages to spice things up more! I come from a Romanian family where all weddings are done in a church with a the service to last 2 hours and with 500 guests, but I knew i didn’t want that. I always wanted to have a small, personal wedding with 200 guests and in the spring outdoors. The feel of spring just made me feel more relaxed and enjoy every moment of my wedding.

This whole wedding was a DIY wedding. My husband and I bought all the centerpiece vessels randomly, but we stuck to one theme. When we picked out the flowers, we noticed that I loved more fillers than flowers. It gave it a more rustic feel, and completes all our centerpieces. We went through a company called Bloomingals, and all I did was give them my collection of vessels and they turned them into the most amazing masterpieces.

On my wedding day, U started to get dressed around eleven (of course i was gonna sleep in). Had all my bridesmaids and photographer (she is one of my close friends) sleep with me in a hotel; the best girls to have a sleep over with. Then I get ready, we met with the groom and took pictures at the Mission Inn, Riverside, Ca. We went to the wedding site, and we took more pictures with the groomsmen and bridesmaids.

The ceremony started at 5:30 and only went on for 35 min. then we headed out to the courtyard for the reception. The swing band started to play, the food was served, it was the most amazing feeling. Towards the end of the reception, we played a slide show of our lives as all our friends and family watched and laughed. Then we had a photo booth constantly going on with props for the guests to enjoy. Around 11:30, we felt that the day is coming to an end. So, I threw my bouquet, and my sister-in-law caught it, then my husband and I got on our scooter and took off.

I couldn’t ask for anything more. This wedding fulfilled my vision and dreams. I thank my friends for coming there 2 hours before the service started, to set up. I couldn’t have done it without them. They were the best thing that happened to me and they made my wedding day a day I’ll always remember.
