From Inspiration to Reality: The Design

I am a very proud little blogger today. Very proud indeed. We are unveiling out latest From Inspiration to Reality Shoot and when I tell you that it is positively gorgeous and that I am thanking my lucky stars to work with vendors that are as good as those behind this design…I am hardly doing it justice. Inspired by this rustic and yet incredibly elegant inspiration board, the result of the shoot was pure and total bliss. Meagan of Maine Seasons Events who did the design and Dawn Kelly of Soiree Floral who did the flowers just might be my new wedding heroes.

And Brea McDonald who snapped the pictures, well “talented” doesn’t even scratch the surface.

From Meagan of Maine Seasons Events

The foundation of the inspiration board for me was comprised of the colors of pale blue, heirloom gold and a touch of orange. I wanted to convey the contrast of a rustic barn and farm feel with the sophistication and glamour of gold metallic accents. The concept of things collected over time, and layers of items with meaning, appeal to me, and I started to think about the types of things you might find in and around a vintage barn. In my wedding designs, I always like to use everyday things in unexpected ways, and this idea of juxtaposing the rustic barn atmosphere with the glamorous sophistication of gold edged glasses and silverware came to me. I also always try to incorporate some unexpected and delightful elements to create unique combinations when designing, and chose several sets of vintage gold- trimmed, white milk glass plates for the place settings.

Sara of Griffin-Vites Stationery, created all of the custom stationery elements, incorporating her original watercolor artwork onto high-quality textured papers. The invitation suite was accented with an illustrated hand-lined envelope and rustic twine & feather embellishment. Dawn Kelly of Soiree Floral supplied creatively arranged flowers, branches, feathers, twigs, assorted vases and antique canning jars, along with vision, and the flexibility to create perfect arrangements in containers she hadn’t been given before the shoot. Dawn’s floral designs included hydrangea, fiddle heads, Veronica, roses, scabiosa, lamb’s ear, dusty miller, safflower and seeded eucalyptus, with hand wired twig segments interlaced throughout.

We have so much more to come from this incredible group of vendors. Here is a list of all of those who participated…
