I grew up visiting seaside Maine, and it's one of those spots that'll forever hold my heart. But when you add in overflowing florals by Emily Carter, it becomes an absolute wonderland. I can't get enough of this coastal celebration, created by the talented Daisies & Pearls, and with every breathtaking blooms captured by...

Style Me Pretty Weddings: The Book!

So far, I've birthed two babies. And one book. And from experience, I can tell you this. They are far more similar than one might think. They both require three things: patience, endurance & pure unabashed love. Plus, they both take the better part of nine months to create. There were nights with each that I cried so hard, I laughed. And days that I laughed so hard, I peed. And whether it's a baby or a...

A Surprise Party, Part IV

It's been quite a day! But the reason that we wanted to break apart this particular party is because we want you to see what a fun and creative process planning something special in your own home can be. This was my first grown-up, I can't believe we hired a chef and actually had rentals in my home, definitely a splurge kind of party but it was so worth it. Sitting in such a warm and familiar spot, all gussied up and glittery, with the people that you love, sharing wine and laughs and a sense of...

A Surprise Party, Part III

Okay, you've seen the inspiration board and the invitation sketches and I'm hoping that you love the concept as much as I did. Organic, glamorous, intimate, warm and modern. All wrapped up into one big ball of pretty. Two of the areas that we really wanted to concentrate on for our Surprise Party were the bar area - which would include a fun pink champagne +...

A Surprise Party, Part II

Once you have your vision nailed down, it's time to start conceptualizing each piece. Starting with the paper goods, as it's those invitations that have to be popped into the mail before the rest of the party comes to fruition. And the paper pieces for this wedding ended up taking center stage. When we were conceptualizing everything, we really felt inspired by watercolor and calligraphy. Handcrafted pieces that addes a sense of art to our...

Outdoor John Audubon Center Wedding from Justin & Mary

The poppy centerpieces, from Market Fresh Flowers, which grace this Pennsylvania wedding might just make it on my Christmas wish list. They are absolutely amazing - and after reading about all the work the bride went through to get them (more on that below) I can't help but name them the most beautiful florals I've seen in a long time. Which is fitting, because this wedding? It's a stunner.

San Diego Workshop Shoot by Justin & Mary

We're headed south now, down to San Diego, where Justin & Mary were inspired by the desert wedding in Fools Rush In. We're absolutely loving the juxtaposition of rustic elements like the terra cotta pots alongside the lace and crochet accents, but I'm pretty sure we'd all agree that the amazing vintage inspired dress takes the cake here...although those churros wrapped in lace look pretty darn good too!

Rowayton Wedding by Justin & Mary

Welcome SMPers to the quintessential New England wedding. It's traditional, but not stuffy, casual yet elegant, and held at every New Englander's most favorite spot: the beach! I'm loving the classic navy and yellow color palette and how absolutely adorable are the first mate and captain signs tied to the backs of their chairs with marine lines? The bride is super stunning in her gorgeous applique gown, which, I might add was totally making a huge comeback on the runways at...
