Your Visual Guide to a Timeless Wedding Design

Mark my words, a wedding day designed like this will stand the test of time. A neutral palette, lush garden blooms, plus a table rich with layered textures equals a celebration that translates no matter the trends. Thanks to the lovelies of White Event Studio, Vasia Photography and the entire vendor crew for helping us ring in springtime in the prettiest way.

From Aranza Grant of White Events… I’ve always had a thing for feminine colors and when you throw the word “elegant” into the mix you have the most perfect combination. Society Florals gorgeous centerpiece and bouquet brought together the vision by choosing the perfect colors and flower varieties. Plume Calligraphy handcrafted the most stunning paper goods with beautiful illustrations. Ruth and Dean made a simple yet lovely cake embellished with handmade ribbon from Carousel and fresh blackberries. Conscious Hair and Heartwood & Co created the most romantic and timeless look for our gorgeous model, allowing her natural beauty to shine. The Lenora gown proved by White Peony was everything we could dream of for our model.

Last but not least, Vasia was an incredible woman to work with. Not only do I love her work but she is also so passionate and talented. When the scans came back, I had no doubt she was the perfect for this shoot. My advice to couples getting married is to bring their essence into the celebration and not to get caught up with a specific theme or color palette. Do what feels true tho you and have fun experimenting with colors and textures!

This LA Couple Planned Their Dream Wedding in Provence

Randi and David both work in the fashion industry, so it will come as a surprise to no one that their wedding day style was completely on point. They gathered up all their friends and family for a weekend in Provence with the amazing Lavender and Rose crew ensuring it all went off without a hitch. M & J Photography + Pascal Delé Filmaker documented the festivities and we’re covering every last bit.

From Lavender and RoseIt was a true delight for us to be able to assist Randi & David with their wedding in Provence. As the couple work in the world of fashion, both partners were particularly concerned with the style aspects of their big day right from the start. Based in Los Angeles, they fell in love with the Villa Baulieu near Aix en Provence knew it was the perfect place.

The weekend of festivities kicked off in a private villa where guests were treated to a tasting of local wines and cheeses with a wine expert and former sommelier from Alain Ducasse’s eatery in Las Vegas. Guests were then invited to savor a summer evening among the vines, discovering French gastronomy. It was a relaxed and informal sharing platter meal, during which the wine and conversation flowed aplenty.

More from Lavender and RoseThe morning of the wedding began with the long-awaited preparations at the Villa Baulieu. The ceremony triggered high emotions, with Randi & David exchanging vows before their loved ones, followed by a cocktail reception and dinner beneath the starry sky. High emotions and a few tears were then replaced by music, laughter and dancing until dawn. The wedding made for the perfect Provence summertime weekend!

5 Wedding Registry Myths Debunked

We know that registering for your Big Day comes with an entire list of do’s and don’ts, but we’re here to tell you, loves… there really are no rules. So if you need help wading through the endless advice, we’re teaming up with Zola for a little myth busting sesh of our own. From cash registry etiquette (go for it) to china must-haves (it’s not necessary), we’ve got you totally covered. Scroll below for debunking 101 and for your chance to sign up for Zola’s all inclusive registry.

MYTH ONE: YOU HAVE TO REGISTER AT MULTIPLE PLACES

If trekking from store to store scanning your hearts out sends you into a deep panic, then take a deep breathe and don’t stress. Because that age-old tradition of registering at multiple places? It’s definitely NOT a must. With Zola, you can keep your wants all in one place, making everything so, so easy for you AND your guests. Think an entire world of amazing gift options, from fabulous products (they offer over 450 top brands) to fun-filled experiences to cash funds. I mean, where else can you register for all of your hiking needs, plus those kitchen must-haves? We love.

MYTH TWO: YOU NEED CHINA

Registering and picking out that perfect china pattern sort of go hand in hand (we’ve all seen the movies), but if you’ve never in your life yearned to dine on some fancy dinnerware, then guess what? You can skip it. Sure, the perfect set of china is a pretty addition to any holiday, but if you’re honestly never going to use it (and there’s a LOT of you), then we suggest putting that energy elsewhere. (Hint: Zola has some crazy cool options in casual dinnerware that are a must.)

MYTH THREE: REGISTERING FOR CASH IS TACKY

Thinking about registering for cash, but don’t want to appear “tacky” or offend your guests? Don’t worry… you won’t. With so many of you already co-habitating with your sweetie, the last thing your nearest and dearest want to do is give you another toaster you can add to your abode. The best option? Cash, aka, a gift that can be used in sooo many different ways. With Zola, you can create a personalized cash fund with super low fees, then start planning those crazy cool excursions you wanted to do on your honeymoon OR take that trip to London you can’t stop dreaming about. Bonus: your guests will love giving you something you can actual use or want.

MYTH FOUR: YOU CAN REGISTER TOO EARLY

Trust us on this one, loves… you can never register too early. It’s just not possible. Especially since your wedding lineup is bound to include everything from bridal showers to bachelorette parties to engagement celebrations for you and your love. And with all of these crazy happy parties happening, your guests are going to want guidance… so registering at Zola as early as possible is most definitely the way to go. Plus, it’s FUN. (Hint: That wine club of the month you’ve always wanted? It’s the perfect engagement gift.)

MYTH FIVE: YOU CAN’T RETURN OR EXCHANGE THINGS YOU DON’T LIKE

People change their minds. We totally get that… and do it all the time. And sometimes, no matter how much time you spend trying to find that perfect lamp for your new boudoir, the moment you see it in your house it’s just… nope. So, yes… you CAN return + exchange things. And with Zola, you’ll receive notifications once a gift has been purchased and you can even exchange or return that item before it ships. I mean, that’s beyond awesome.

Ready to start that registry with all of the things you thought you couldn’t? Visit Zola today to peruse their awesome gift options (hello, flatware and bedding), crazy cool experiences (I’m talking to you, cooking classes) and cash funds. You can even use their 5-star app to register on-the-go and will receive a 10% off completion offer for one year post-nuptials. Looking for even more Zola perks? Set up your registry by 3/27/18 and receive $50 in Zola credit. It’s an experience like no other, loves…trust us you’ll want to sign up!

*You will receive $50 to spend on Zola when you set up your wedding registry on Zola, once you receive $500 in Zola gifts. Zola gifts will be defined as any physical products purchased on Zola.com. Cash funds or third party gifts from other websites are not considered Zola gifts. The $50 Zola credit can only be redeemed for Zola gifts and cannot be redeemed for cash, cash funds or third party gifts. Credits will be placed into the couple’s Zola account 4 weeks after a couple receives $500 in Zola gifts. Registry must be created but not necessarily published by 03/27/2018. Marketing promotional credits expire 180 days after they are issued.

An Empty Warehouse Turned Wedding Inspo Goldmine

When Gigi Mallatt Events set out to design inspiration for the modern bride, an empty warehouse was just the blank canvas she needed. Sleek, chic, yet anchored in classic elegance, every light-kissed image by Kristine Herman is worth devouring and we’re just getting started. More this way!

Gigi Mallatt EventsAfter stepping foot in this empty warehouse, my eyes began to create. Being surrounded by all that white space, it felt as if this was my blank canvas to create a design that stayed true to its modern bones, but really add a touch elegance to it. We created this through color, texture, and one gorgeous couple!

The tablescape was adorned in a silver-gray linen with a very sleek look. Gorgeous floral pieces in beautiful pinks and an enormous amount of greenery and modern pieces with touches of gold throughout were present in the design to add a touch of elegance. The cake trio was a great alternative to a single cake and entailed a modern cut out design throughout. With a beautiful paper suite that focused on simplicity and clean design, it was a great addition. The dress by Hayley Paige was a show stopper! The illusion embroidery on the top was so delicate and combined with the layered bottom, it really added to the design.
