From Vane...

We're getting married next April at Stage Six Steiner Studios, in the Brooklyn Navy Yards.  While we're having a fairly formal affair, since I'm an interior designer and he's an architect, we definitely wanted to have some fun and tone down the seriousness a bit.  Most of that will come through our color palette of green and white with hints of yellow, and little touches here and there [still TBD for the most part]. We're definitely not the frou-frou type, so everything we do we try to keep very architectural and clean, right down to the cake.  I LOVE throwing people for a loop with unexpected details like having buttons for everyone to wear, or throwing a stick of Brooklyn gum in the OOT bags.  I also plan on doing a lot of hands-on projects as the date approaches because I just thrive on making things...sewing fabric covers for our centerpiece vases, making my ring-pillow...today I even decided to make lavender sachets out of the extra vase fabric as gifts for my ladies!  There's been a lot of fine tuning, idea tossing, fighting and making up, but its all been worth it because after its all said and done, I want people to walk away and think that this wedding was truly "us".
