Organic + Bohemian Bridal Inspiration

At any rate, this is happiness. Don’t believe me? Take one look at the THE VAULT and just try to claim otherwise. Because when you’ve got a gallery from Joshua Ratliff graced with gorgeousness from Essense Of Australia, well we’re pretty certain that’s pure, unadulterated bliss.

From The Bride-to-be…Being from southeast New Mexico and living in West Texas, I guess you could say my “style” didn’t necessarily fit in around here. I love the people, but not so much the rhinestone, mason jar and burlap obsession. With that, I figured my wedding was the only time I could really showcase my true flavor. I would say my taste is more organically bohemian (before boho was in, but in a tasteful way. That’s where my dress inspiration came from. I wanted something effortlessly beautiful. Add a gorgeous floral arrangement and stunning braid and call it good. I’m so laid back and I really wanted that to show. My make up was natural as it gets, which really made my heart happy, and I loved all the products that were used.

What I loved most about the day were the people I was with. Of course getting dressed up like a bohemian princess was more than I could ever want, but something about the chemistry between all of us out in the middle of nowhere was inspiring. Joshua and Carly are so driven and passionate that seeing people at work doing what they love was truly a blessing. They’re both based in Lubbock too! No shot was taken lightly; everything had to be perfect, but in such a relaxing, loving, playful and carefree environment. We were pressed for time as the sun began to set, but at no point did it become overwhelming or stressful. Their teamwork, passion and talents really brought the session together from start to finish. It also gave my mother and I a beautiful experience that we will never forget. It allowed us the time to just have fun together in a unique way. I hadn’t seen my mom that happy since the whole wedding planning process began.

I thought the location was perfect! We were right outside of Lubbock where my fiance Hayden and I actually met, so there was some history behind it. Lubbock may not be known for always offering a culture to suit the discerning bride, but this shoot shows quite the opposite of that. It proves that if you explore a little further, you’ll find something breathtakingly beautiful.

Vintage Backyard Wedding Inspiration from Marcie Meredith Photography

Have I mentioned that I love inspiration shoots?  Because I soooo do.  Especially ones dripping in Southern meets vintage chic details and brought to life by a talented team of Texas vendors.  Ones like this bundle of inspiration from Southern Elegance Design and Marcie Meredith Photography, a laid-back, yet elegant love fest of soft peach hues, fab paper goods from Blissful Duo and a yummy creation from Pink Cookie Box (and I mean yummy).  It’s a day that is literally bursting with inspiration and you should most definitely get to pinning right here in the full gallery.

From Marcie Meredith PhotographyShot on both film and digital formats, we were looking to create a charming, Southern backyard wedding using a mix of old and new. The fabulous women from Southern Elegance Design used a palette of blush, peach, cream, and touches of gold. They used an eclectic group of antique pieces along with their own creations, such as various painted flower vases, which came together seamlessly.

We chose a wedding dress that was a little less formal but still chic. Since it was a wrap dress, we were able to create two different looks, which was really fun! A vintage ring, modern jewelry, and a loose braid with flowers completed her look. I wanted the groom to complement her so we kept his suit light and selected an ever so charming bow tie. The color palette really shines on the bride and groom together! Love it! We were so happy to be able to shoot at a beautiful historic home. It really was essential to set the tone.
