Well folks, it doesn’t get more fun than this! With a ceremony on stage in theatre, board games as table numbers, a button-filled cake and Mario Brothers inspired cupcake tower, red swoon-worthy shoes, and a couple with loads of personality and charm – this wedding by Ryan Price Photography is the epitome of a good time! From Everything’s A Story …From the moment Lola and Robert became engaged, I knew their wedding was going to be a whirlwind of kitschy ideas with a unique focus on their favorite things. Both non-traditional, self-proclaimed nerds, the bride and groom really wanted to incorporate everything they loved into their big day, be it Matryoshka dolls and video-games, or 1950s style and sci-fi interests. They wanted their wedding to be fun and joyful, and wanted their guests to feel relaxed and included in the day’s celebration.
The ceremony was a reflection of Lola and Robert’s eclectic tastes. The wedding party walked down the aisle to Queen’s “Somebody to Love”. The flower-girl carried a “Here Comes the Bride” banner, and the ring bearer toted the rings in a hollowed out book. The couple professed their love to one another though “alien invasion or zombie apocalypse” and the groom pinned a broach made from his family tartan to the bride’s dress as a way to welcome her to his family.
Post-ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour of signature cocktails and a popcorn buffet at the theater bar, while the bride and groom used the stage at the theater, set to look like an old apartment, as the backdrop for some amazing photographs. Downtown 202, a historic warehouse-style building on the train tracks in downtown Bryan, TX, and the reception location, was only two blocks from the ceremony. So,we planned a parade of sorts for the entire wedding party and all the guests, complete with streamers,music (“One Love” by Bob Marley played as loud as possible) and a “Just Married” banner carried at the front of the lineup.
The “vintage with a twist” style carried through to the reception where guests were directed to their tables by escort cards with game pieces attached. The bride and groom share a love of games so we decided to use a different vintage game on each table as the centerpiece. Guests were encouraged to play the games, and discouraged from cheating. The bride is a writer and bibliophile, so we used old books throughout the décor, and tried to tie the titles of the books in with the games (“The Property Tax Handbook” with Monopoly, and “What Every Woman Should Know” near the bride’s cake). Each table was draped with a different vintage kitchen cloth. Chalkboards were used as menus, and vintage soda crates held flip-flop “dancing shoes” for the ladies in heels. The antique console behind the bride’s cake was set with vintage tins and framed wedding photos of the bride and groom’s parents and grandparents, so that they could include those family members who could not be with them as they celebrated their marriage. Guests also enjoyed a photo booth, and were encouraged to use the vintage style glasses, hats and jewelry we provided as props. They really didn’t need much encouragement! The photo strips were then placed in a scrapbook and guests were asked to write a message to the bride and groom so that the book could be kept as a memento. We also used the photo strips as wedding favors.

The details from this wedding simply made my head spin. This couple is so much fun and their creativity was off the charts!
Lola and Robert were an amazingly fun couple to work with. Their ideas were unique, and they were fearless when it came to incorporating non-traditional themes into their big day. Every detail was a joy to coordinate!
Lauren with Everythings A Story was amazing to work with. As the mother of the bride I was in shock when Lola and Robert decided to book the wedding 7 months from engagement. Lauren calmed my nerves and went straight to work. After sitting down with the bride an groom the ideas started flowing and a story board was planned. The next few months went by fast, but with Lauren's help I was confident everything, would come together. As you can see through Ryan's photos, the wedding was wonderful and reflected the bride and groom completely. Everyones comments were, that they had never been to such a fun wedding that embodied the spirit of both the bride and groom.
All these memories were captured on film through the creative eye of Ryan Price Photography. He did an amazing job capturing the the event from the engagement and bridals, to the wedding day.

Thanks guys! It was a blast and you all made it happen. We just really wanted an event that was all about our relationship, turns out that makes for a great party. All of the special touches from the button bouquets to the vintage photos of our family that had passed on made it truly the best day of our lives. Lauren took all our ideas and made them come alive, never did I feel like something wasn't mine or didn't express our essence. Not many people can take other people's ideas and make them even better than we imagined! I'm so glad that this awesome website wanted to showcase our special day plus Lauren and Ryan's tremendous talent.
