From Heather Sanderson Photography…This wedding was very special to me because I grew up with the bride. We were very good friends all throughout high school, so I was so EXCITED when she asked me to photograph one of the most special days in her life. I sat down with her and talked details and she told me no one has ever gotten married at this place, and they are trying to get more weddings there so it was the perfect venue. It could hold up to 500 people. The place she got married at was the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts in the Helen DeVitt Jones Studio 2. It was a neat place, a bright blue little building in the front with hearts around it.
Marisa also told me she wanted her whole wedding to have a modern/vintage theme mostly modern. The first thing she told me was that the bride and groom were going to be facing the audience instead of the preacher and that they were going to have California style seating which is have round tables where everyone sits for ceremony and reception instead of having chairs and an aisle. She wanted her wedding to be different and that is why this wedding stood out to me.
We did all the pictures before the wedding, so it was neat seeing their reactions with the first sight pictures. Then we went outside to take the rest of the pictures and come to find out it was the hottest day Lubbock, TX has ever seen in a long time! 114 degrees! Even though it was so hot we got amazing photos and had a blast taking them. The groomsmen are so goofy and funny so we had a blast taking their pictures. This wedding overall was just so amazing!

Fabulous pictures! Heather Sanderson did a wonderful job capturing the spirit and essence of this wedding. The entire event is uniquely documented for posterity and for the families involved. The bride and groom succeeded spendidly at creating a wedding that was both modern and vintage. In a word-charming!
