Austin Wedding by Brett Buchanan Wedding Photojournalism

Is it just me or is there always something spectacular about an Austin wedding?  They are the perfect blend of the traditional and the extraordinary.  Take this French-inspired garden fete by Brett Buchanan Wedding Photojournalism, for example.  Would you ever expect this dashing groom to be rocking out on an electric guitar by the end of the night (with his son on the drums)?  Yeah, me neither but that’s just one of the incredible surprises that happened at this elegant meets awesome affair.   You can see more uber-sweet and unexpected details in the full gallery!

Trent and I met three and half years ago.  It was complete fate, if you believe in those things.  It was a Friday night downtown in Austin.  We walked passed Darwin’s Pub and I heard this amazing sound coming from inside.  Much to my surprise, Trent was the one creating that amazing sound!  I stayed the whole night and we walked up to each other after he finished and the rest is history!

The day started early with a low key brunch with my bridesmaids at a Barton Springs residence near Zilker Park.  After spending the afternoon in preparation we headed by bus to the Barr Mansion.  Trent and I  saw each other for the first time that day near the remains of the Artisan Ballroom. A peaceful, calm feeling came over me when I saw him…I had been a nervous wreck all day until I saw his face.  He grounds me.

Cocktails were served under the pecan tree before the ceremony and the guest were escorted to their seats in the garden right before sunset.  The ceremony was short and sweet as we both wanted.  We both wrote our vows to each other and Trent sealed the deal with a coin toss!
