Hoffman Haus Wedding by Anne Marie Photography

I’m a detail kind of girl.  You dig?  I imagine many of you do, given your likely penchant for a site like Abby’s, here.  (:  But seriously, details RULE.  They are the measure of relationships, in my estimation and, while I don’t hold anyone to a standard insofar as weddings go, I LOOOOVE me a good close-up shot or cleverly thought out embellishment.  What else do I love?  Well, cowboy boots, pinwheels, bocce ball games and elaborate bridal suite wall paintings, for starters.  And Laurie and Mark’s wedding, photographed by two tremendously talented photographers, Traci Dennis and Kellie Finch of Anne Marie Photography, has fed my insatiable need for such details… to the point where I don’t think I can call it insatiable anymore.  (Are you dying to see all the delightful details at once?  I get it; go ahead and check out the gallery for it all right now!) — xoxo, Alison of The Knotty Bride

Here’s the rundown from our bride, Laurie:

We found the Hoffman Haus 16 months prior when Mark surprised me with a side-trip while in Austin for a friend’s wedding.  It was great to have our friends and family within walking distance all weekend and we really used all of the unique settings within the Hoffman Haus.  The concept was fun, fresh and colorful!  From the Koozie Save-the-Dates to the 80s band, we wanted our guests to feel at home and fall in love with the laid-back, rustic atmosphere of Fredericksburg that we adore.  During the cocktail reception we paid homage to our roots with Pat O’Briens Hurricanes (Mark is from New Orleans) and Sweet Tea for Grown-ups (Laurie is from Georgia) and encouraged our guests have a ball with yard games. We had the entire property for the weekend, so there was no closing time.  In order to keep the party going, we opted not to have a formal departure from our guests.  Since guests were staying near by and the late-night bonfire was roaring, many guests chose to stay after we slipped out until the wee hours. We couldn’t have been happier with the memories, the pictures and the stories that came out of our Texas getaway!  The bridesmaids’ jewelry was custom made by Roper Lane.  I worked with the owner to design each pair to fit each girl’s personality.  They were made of 14k gold and peridot by Annie Evans (owner, designer of Roper Lane) Thank you, Laurie and Mark, for sharing your incredible day with us!!  All the best for a wonderful life together! xoxo, Alison of The Knotty Bride Photographers: Traci Dennis & Kellie Finch of Anne Marie Photography / Location: The Hoffman Haus of Fredericksburg, TX http://hoffmanhaus.com/ Cake: Sophie’s Choice Bakery / Catering: My Own Chef, Vickie Bonewitz / Ceremony Music: Monte Vista Strings / Officiate: Bryan Rose / Flowers: Maggie Gillespie /Reception Music: Radio Star Austin / Day of Coordination:  E. 1. I can't even tell you all the things i love so much about this post. We are also BIG detail people, and these shots are amazing. I especially love the ring one. So creative. We just did a post about ring shots, as well as the new shoe phenomenon-both of which are so perfectly exemplified in this post! And not to mention, I adore this dress and that bouqet. Amazing!!! Thanks for sharing!

  2. i love all the details in this wedding...especially the fact that the guests can play bocce ball games.

I love this. It's simple, modern, and no-frills fun. There's nothing like a bonfire and a little square dancing at your wedding reception! The dress stole the show...gorgeous.

  4. Todd France says:

It's true, details go a long way, and it shows in the gorgeous presentation of these photos. Simply beautiful.

LOVE! The clothespin shot is so whimsical and sweet.

  7. MMBride says:

BEAUTIFUL WEDDING!! I love all of the details......I do have a few questions for you: where did you find the bocci and croquet signs? I am searching for something similar for my own wedding.....also, the drink stirrers?

    Everything looks just perfect. Congrats!

  8. Kat says:

You guys achieved EXACTLY the feel we want to achieve for our wedding--simple, fun, laid-back, and focused on the important things--taking care of loved ones and celebrating! Beautiful job, beautiful couple! Congratulations and thank you for the inspiration...

  9. Brianna says:

As a bridesmaid in this wedding I can attest that the wedding was even more beautiful and fun in person! Laurie and Mark put so much effort into making their guests feel welcome and right at home. It was honestly one of the most fun and laid back weekends I've had to date! The theme perfectly exemplified them as a couple and it was so special to be a part of it all!

  10. I'm sooo happy to see this feature today! My wedding is at Hoffman Haus and I couldn't be more excited! I love the color combination that was used and the boots and games are perfect. its just how we imagine our wedding day. I'm in love with Anne Marie Photography too!

  11. my oh my what a lovely set of photographs. beautiful!!!!

  12. Laurie (the Bride) says:

Thanks everyone for the sweet compliments. To answer your questions, MMBride: we made the bocce ball and croquet signs for about $5 using the wooden plaques sold at Michaels, some white paint and a paint pen, and dowels purchased at Home Depot. The wooden stirrers were such a fun purchase! I got them from ForYourParty.com. Shawna, you will absolutely LOVE working with the ladies at the Hoffman Haus. They are the most enjoyable, hard-working women in the business. Also, since you're getting hitched in Fredericksburg, I couldn't recommend Maggie Gillespie (florist) or Elizabeth Harris (coordinator) more. Both were really fantastic, full of creative ideas and Elizabeth made sure everything came together perfectly.

  13. Wow these are killer details, and amazing photos! Lovely in every way!

  14. Shawna Brinkley says:

Thanks so much for the help Laurie! You looked beyond amazing! I'm sooo pumped. Yes we LOVE Leslie and Courtney at the Hoffman Haus and so do my parents, very hard working women and just wonderful people. Totally gonna have Sophie's Choice. Thanks for the recommendations and the tips about creating the game signs. I want to do horseshoes, bocce ball, croquet and bolo. Custom signage is necessary with all the wonderful areas on the property. Well if you can't get enough of SMP greatness then find me on the Style Circle!

  15. Yay, LucieMarie! Angela did my hair and makeup at my wedding, and I couldn't have been happier! I never felt more beautiful than I did that day. :)

Beautiful wedding! Love the Hoffman Haus... what a great location!

  16. Autumn says:

Okay...I admit that although I feel details really do make an event, I'm not always the best at putting the little things together and making them both glamorous and natural...KWIM? This wedding did both. Nice work. I loved the clothes pins on the rings, BTW.

  17. Lo says:

I love the embroidered napkins! I originally wanted to make fabric napkins but am realizing that may be a bigger project than I want to take on. This is a great alternative. I am wondering how much it would cost for something like that with the flower and initials? Beautiful wedding!

  18. Lana says:

I was wondering...where did you find the cute pinwheels! Beautiful wedding!!!!

  19. Lana says:

I was wondering where you found your pinwheels.....? Your wedding was beautiful!

  20. Hi Lo, I'm glad you like the napkins. I actually purchased the linen napkins in bulk and had my parents design and embroider them (they own an embroidery company) so really, it was pretty cheap. Sorry I can't provide a better estimate! Lana, the pinwheels were purchased at Target on clearance for $5. I got them at the end of the 2009 season not knowing what I would do with them, but thinking that they were too cute to pass up I grabbed them and worked them into the cocktail hour.

  21. Hi Laurie,
Simply loved doing this for you, creating your vision in flowers, lighting and props at one of my all time favorite places: Hoffmann Haus! You were (are!) a stunning, creative bride and so much fun to work with..thank you for your kind comments and the beautiful visuals captured by Anne Marie, such fun! .Shawna: couldn't agree more that Leslie and Courtney are simply wonderful, Sophie's cakes taste as good as they look and I know you (and your guests) are in for a treat having your wedding there....Congratulations!

  22. rc says:

    Hi Laurie!

I wanted to ask you about catering.... we're having our wedding @ Hoffman Haus and am planning from out of town so wanted to get your advice! Thanks!! Beautiful wedding!

  23. Laurie (the Bride) says:

    Hi RC,

We used My Own Chef. Vickie and her team were amazing. The food was creative and her staff was exceptionally accommodating of my crazy requests (seriously. I cared about the things that I am pretty sure no other bride does...exactly what platter will the ceviche be served on and can I customize it?). The food was a total hit. The cake came from Sophie's Choice (both are local, FBG businesses) and was a pretty low-key cake given Sophie's talent. Both MOC and Sophie's were able to offer us tastings on the same day, which was great given that we were traveling in from DC.
