When we first met our bride, she wore leopard & pink and told us that her wedding vision in Palm Springs included pink, feathers, crystals, black and ~ a bit of leopard mixed in for some fun! Could we work with it? Of course we could!  The result amazed even us as we helped pull together her wedding while working with an amazing team …

Guests were greeted at the door to the country club by two fabulous pink feather wreaths with the couples initials.The ceremony took place overlooking the Chocolate Mountains of La Quinta, CA. Bridesmaids were in pink dresses that had a leopard accent added by the bride! Pink feathers surrounded the bridal party and the bride, dressed in a light pink feathery dress, glided down a hot pink runner to meet her groom.

The reception, held on the outdoor patio of the country club, featured tables dressed with black and crystal overlays, with hot pink flowers, crystals and feathers in leopard covered boxes. We helped the florist wrap the hot pink napkins with leopard ribbon and peacock feathers!

We helped the brides mother surprise the couple with an ice sculpture and we surprised everyone by renting two Chameleon Chairs dressed in hot pink feathers for the bride and groom to sit in during their party!!

SO many of our favorite weddings are in Charleston! Alice and Jeff’s spring wedding took place at the William Aiken House.

A “Mason Dixon Station” was set up … a signature drink consisting of local Firefly sweet tea vodka blended with lemonade and garnished with a lemon wheel and served in mason jars tied in whip-stitched French blue grosgrain ribbon.  Mmmmmm … such a sweet touch! If you’re going to do a signature drink, this is the way to do it! FILL it with ice and you’re pretty much set for the day.

“Take A Wish ~ Make A Wish” stations  were a huge hit!

Materials

Scissors
Hot Glue
Wire Cutters
Ribbon
A Pussy Willow Wreath and 2-4 Berry Stems

Instructions

1. At your local craft store buy a pussy-willow wreath or other coordinating wreath and 2-4 berry “picks.” I prefer berries because it is easier to get away with fake berries than fake flowers.

2. Buy 2 yards of each color ribbon. 2 colors per wreath generally looks best. My favorite ribbon is at MJ Trim.

3. Using wire cutters, strip the berries of the outer plastic coating so they are pliable.

4. Place berries at a diagonal, wrap berry wire around the wreath and glue into place. Let dry.

5. Layer the ribbon and tie in a knot around the berries and wreath wire. Glue the back side of the knot to the wreath. Let dry.

6. Tie bow, fluff and snip ends at an angle about 6 inches from the bottom of the wreath.
