Anne and Bill Holland of Holland Photo Arts sent us today’s featured wedding because they know we love all things pretty AND because the beautiful bride, Erin, “found” them thru our Little Black Book. We LOVE it when we hear that!

Erin and Steve’s wedding was held on the grounds of Johns Hopkins’ Evergreen Museum and Library. What an amazing venue for a springtime wedding!

After the ceremony, they slipped away for a few of the Holland’s stunning signature portrait shots …

The wedding reception was held at the Carriage House, where “library cards” were laid out in neat little rows, each card with a particular guest’s name. (One of the Holland’s “fab finds” !) On the back was a note stating that ‘in lieu of favors, a donation was being made in their guests’ name toward Reading is Fundamental. You can see more photos of these on the Holland’s blog.

These lovely wedding flowers were designed by Radebaugh Florists.

How sweet are these gingham ribbons on the wedding programs? This wedding is a such a great example of how to infuse real personality and fun into an otherwise formal and elegant affair!

We really thank Holland Photo Arts for these fantastic photographs of Erin and Steve’s glorious wedding day! You’ve managed to capture the festive mood as well as the seriousness of the moments in one fell swoop!! Although we know you don’t need to be “found” … we hope that many, many, many more brides “find” you via Style Me Pretty!!

From the bride, Fiona…

The pink theme ran through the day – bridesmaids dresses, flowers, ushers ties, wine glasses, pink lemonade, pink champagne, pink ribbon to tie the order of service together, rose petals etc. The favours were small packs of mints that had ‘mint to be’ written on them in pink along with our names. I actually got them from the For Your Party website in the States.

I didn’t want a formal meal (in The UK everyone seems to go for meat and vegetables!) so for the wedding breakfast we served sausages and mash and we served the chocolate wedding cake as part of the desert. We then had a tiered cheese cake which we served later on in the evening.

Instructions

(please note, I have skipped the step about designing the art for the cover as it is totally up to you and your own design ideas)

1. Once you have your cover and inside pages designed (ours were made to fit four on a standard 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock) get them cut and printed (saving yourself lots of time and agony). **when designing keep in mind that you will need a larger gutter on the side with the seam.

2. Assemble pages in the order you want and use a few binder clips to keep them in place.

3. Use a decorative stitch and sew the pages together. We had two pieces of cardstock and 4-5 pieces of regular weight paper and my regular sewing machine needle did just fine. I wouldn’t worry about back stitching at the beginning and the end – it should hold pretty well without.

4. Fill a small glassine envelope with dried lavender (or rice or whatever you want thrown at you). Tape closed (I used Martha Steward ribbon tape from Michael’s).

5. Use rubber cement to glue the glassine envelope to the back inside cover of your program. Design your back inside cover to have a sentence instructing guests what to do with them.

LOVE! These programs are such a sweet way to introduce your guests to the day. They are laid back, they are cozy, they are completely adorable! Oh, and I’ve already asked the bride if we can put her wedding up on SMP because the whole wedding is this pretty.

What I really love about today’s featured wedding is that the couple seemed to edit their wedding style. What I mean is that even on a budget, they were able to pull together a look that seems really cohesive and expensive. It’s charming, it’s elegant and most of all, it’s filled with this incredibly sweet personality…

More from Beth, the gorgeous bride…

The details were really important to us. We crafted pecan pralines favors using pralines that I bought at Trader Joes. I printed out the Thank You tags (featuring the cardinal) and cut them out myself and tied them to the bags myself. A labor of love, but everyone loved the pralines!

Also, our Polaroid guestbook was a big hit. I pasted in the little photo tabs for the pictures into the album, bought the camera at a yard sale and the film (which was pretty costly) on ebay. The album was bought on sale at Paper-Source.

I bought the program fans from Asian Ideasfor $60, printed out the ceremony programs on the Epson printer I bought for all these projects (a good purchase) and on luxe white cards from Paper-Source (aka my second home), punched holes in the programs and attached them to the fams using ribbon and a crochet hook (my mother actually did most of them!).

So much more from this beautiful wedding! And, if you haven’t already, check out the details from the DIY contest that we announced today!!

2nd Image…I have always loved simple floral pieces adorning the back of chairs. Adding that fun, striped ribbon adds a bit of personality and charm to an otherwise formal event.

3rd Image…Programs don’t have to be boring. I loooooove this one. The bird is just so pretty and the stacked pages are a great way to include a lot of information, while keeping things really pretty.

Bottom Image…Who doesn’t love the sweet elegance of this image? Mason jars filled with tea lights, then hung from trees creates such a warm and inviting atmosphere. Love it!

Thanks, Jennifer, for sending us these great details!
