Alex and Josh were married in November on a sunny winter day in downtown Denver at The Magnolia Hotel. Their sleek, chic, modern wedding embraced their passions and personalities spot on!

Josh’s love of watches was incorporated into the details of the day!

The chuppa was placed in front of a candle-filled rock garden and adorned with orchids.

Alex and Josh infused their wedding day with special touches that delighted their guests. When Alex walked down the aisle toward Josh, it was to the melodic tones of a vibraphone!

The color palette kept to the modern simplicity of the affair: black, white, purple. And feathers were used as a whimsical touch thoughout …

The aisle was lined with large glass vases containing a single calla lilly, black stones and wrapped with black ribbon.

Cake toppers: a sneaker for Josh and a zebra-pump for Alex.

Alex’s wedding gown and the bridesmaid’s dresses were designed by Thread.

So, so pretty! I know that the bright blue and the green are a really popular color palette, but I don’t always see it done as lovely as this. It’s fresh and happy, perfect for this cheerful outdoor wedding!

Music played a big role in our day. The bridesmaids walked down the aisle to “Love and Some Verses” by Iron and Wine; my father and I walked down the aisle to “How Deep is Your Love” by The Bird and the Bee; a good friend of ours performed two beautiful songs for us during the ceremony; and, for a little touch of fun, Alex and I walked back up the aisle to “All I Want Is You” by Barry Louis Polisar.

Alex arranged all of the music. Rather than hire a DJ/Band he created various playlists on iTunes that included only songs that we love. Everyone was raving about the music and we were able to personalise our event while avoiding the cost of a DJ or band.

Question 4: We are having a non-religious ceremony on the beach with about 125 guests. The attire is formal and for the most part, the ceremony will be pretty traditional. The only thing left to plan is the entrance music for the parents/grandparents, the bridesmaids and for myself….I want something that is beautiful, but not over-the-top wedding (ie. no “here comes the bride”). We are completely stumped and not sure where to begin.  Any suggestions of great wedding music that isn’t too wedding-y?

Any tips for this bride-to-be?
