Step One: The first essential step to any beautiful makeup look is to treat the skin. Since Abby is young and has a naturally beautiful complexion, Dior Makeup Artist Tina Safonova prepped the skin with One Essential which detoxifies the skin and enhances the skincare benefits of your current skincare regimen by up to 400%.

She then followed with Hydra Life Serum, Sorbet Crème, and Eye Crème and applied Diorskin Nude Foundation in shade 020 with a Foundation Brush to the entire face to even the complexion. To cover discoloration or darkness under the eyes, she applied Diorskin Nude Concealer in shade 002 with a Concealer Brush. To set the look and reduce shine from a humid climate, she applied Diorskin Nude Powder in shade 020.

To create a dewy look perfect for the beach, Tina mixed Skinflash in shade 001 with the lighter shades of Diorskin Shimmer Star in Amber Diamond with a Cheek Brush and applied to the eye contour. For an extra touch of color, Tina applied the pink shade of Harmonie Blush in shade 001 to the apples of the cheeks.

Step Two: To create a natural yet polished look, Tina primed the lid with Skinflash in shade 001. Priming is essential for wedding day makeup because it helps hold the shadow for the entire day.

She then applied Dior 5 Colour Eyeshadow in Incognito. She applied the beige shade (top left of the palette) by pressing the shadow softly onto the lid with small yet firm strokes. To open and brighten the eye, Tina applied the pink shade (middle of the palette) to the corner of the eye. To add a touch of romance, she mixed the brown and grey shades (bottom right and left of the palette) and blended them into the crease. To highlight the eye, Tina applied the shimmering white shade (top right of the palette) directly under the brows for a hint of shimmer that photographs beautifully. To naturally fill in the brows, Tina applied Diorshow Browstyler in Universal Brown with short, soft strokes.

To add a bit of intensity, Tina softly outlined the lashes with Dior Waterproof Eyeliner in Intense Brown. Be sure to keep the liner close to the lash line and apply softly in between the lashes. Tina smudged the bottom liner with her ring finger to soften the look. For the finishing touch, Tina applied Diorshow Lash Maximizer as a primer which also thickens and lengthens the lashes and then two coats of award winning Diorshow Waterproof Mascara in Chestnut.

Step Three: For a picture perfect smile, Tina lined Abby’s lips with Dior Lip Liner in Caramel. For staying power, she used the liner to shade lips but left the middle untouched. Leaving the middle open creates a full lip effect.

Tina then used a sponge eyeshadow applicator to press Dior Addict Lipstick in Baby Rose # 561 into the lips. This technique helps with staying power and keeps color on the lips through an entire night of kisses and sips. To finish, Tina applied Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in Pink Trench # 257 to the center of the lips and blotted slightly.

Some tips from Nikol…

Summer is here, heavy makeup is not. Keep your look Fresh and clean with these must have tips from Fresh Beauty Studio.

Clean skin is always your first step to looking young and polished. You want to have a simple yet effective skin care regimen. Always invest in the best ingredients and keep an eye out for antioxidants, AHA’s, enzymes from fruit. Vit C etc. Your skin must be exfoliated at least once a week to keep a youthful glow. To feed your skin make sure you are putting on a serum suited to your skin type. We love Eminence Eight Greens Youth Serum. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize your skin. We love Crème de la Mer for a dewy look.

Use a tinted moisturizer with SPF. You will get beautiful coverage that will even out your complexion without adding a lot of weight.
Cream shadow is light and dewy for summer. It gives your eyes that sparkle. Try NARS cream shadow duo in Summer Time. You can take this look into fall by trading out your cream shadow for a powder shadow and going more bronze and gold as seen on Oscar de la Renta and Roberto Cavalli fall 2008 runway shows.

Hydrate lips: I can’t live without Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. I recommend this to all my brides for the perfect kissable pout.
Mascara and gloss are your new BFF’s. To keep your look simple coat your lashes twice with black mascara (Lash Blast is amazing by Cover Girl) and gloss up those lips. For my hair, I wanted it to be up, in a disheveled bun for the ceremony and photos, then I wanted to take it down for the reception. This easy up-do was perfect for me because it felt so soft and romantic, but in that really non-prom-ish way. My cousin set it without using rubber bands so that I had no creases when we took it down.

For my make-up, I wanted to look natural…all eyes and a subtle lip. When I tell you that I loved what our make-up artist, Lynne Avallone did, it just might be the understatement of the year. I felt beautiful, but I felt like myself. Lynne used warm neutrals with touches of pink, champagne, copper and chocolate. She also applied subtle false eyelashes that made my eyes pop in pictures. My maids all chose their own hair and make-up styles…some wore low, loose buns and others just had some waves put in. Everyone looked and felt gorgeous.

To hire a make-up artist or not is a big question. It’s an expense that is often difficult to justify. And yet, I have to say…my make-up artist, my hair stylist and of course my pretty dress were the reasons that I felt as beautiful as I did on my wedding day. There is something special about someone coming in to help transform your look…from you, into your BEST you…that just makes you feel like a princess.

So, I am curious, how many of you guys are planning on hiring someone to do your hair and make-up? Bringing a friend in to help out? Doing it yourself?
