Candice is the creative force behind Jubilee Events … and is getting married this August! We LOVE our Little Black Book BRIDES!!!

We just featured one of Candice’s weddings on SMP last week ~ Dagney & Michael’s fantastic Connecticut wedding celebration. The reception took place in an airport hanger! Another quick note … Candice’s Modern Trousseau gown was from The White Dress By The Shore, one of the finest bridal salons in all of New England. And we’re NOT just saying that because they are LBB members … seriously … they are awesome!

We just saw that … right now, The White Dress By The Shore is having a Couture Sample Sale Event (until June 6th) … photos of some of the samples on their site {here} … and a  Modern Trousseau Trunk Show from June 11th thru the 14th (by appointment) for you and the moms. Beth Chapman at The WDBTS has a website and a blog just loaded with bridal fashion tips and gowns from all the exquisite designers that they feature. We wanted the wedding to be simple but classy – The Lyceum was the perfect back drop to create such a feeling. Combined with the flowers, candles, music, food, and champagne!! It was perfect!. The gold dresses and accents were a nice nod to the holidays without being too much.  Since the wedding was in November, which can be dreadful in Cincinnati, the gold helped keep things warm and inviting. With our move to Switzerland 2 months prior to the wedding, we wanted to bring a few touches of Switzerland – The Swiss Chocolates were direct from the Lindt factory here in Zurich, Switzerland; the Swiss theme Cookies were made by “Cake Creations by Sue”, and the Swiss flag baggage tags were used for table assignments and then kept as favours. It was an easy way for us to provide our new contact information as well as open up an invite for visitors.

Simple and classy … warm and inviting … perfect …

Courtenay’s gorgeous bouquets and centerpieces added just the right amount of color to the elegant color scheme used throughout the wedding.

Patricia’s make-up was done by one of Cincinnati’s best … Little Black Book vendor, Brideface. Seriously ~ look at the close-ups … just beautiful.

Patricia’s wedding gown was by Nicole Miller. Her stunning coat was custom-made by … an unnamed designer. (So sorry … we definitely WILL try to get that information for you!)

Let me tell you why I completely love Olivia Luca. For one, her designs are classic and understated and yet they have this chic element going…the bold colors on the belt, the modern but totally feminine silhouettes. Every dress just screams sophisticated luxury.

Second, Olivia’s dresses are all custom made, designed exclusively for you and your body type using completely sustainable fabrics. Yep, AND…they are affordable. I am not sure if it gets any better than that.

Melody, of Birdcage Veils in Dallas has totally devoted herself to these little pieces of heaven and she’s stopping by today to share some thoughts!

The birdcage veil brings a new but vintage look to the fashion of wedding attire. Reese Witherspoon wore a birdcage veil in the movie ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ in 2002….which we all fell in love with. When a bride asked me to design a birdcage veil just like the one Reese wore in the movie, I scoured the stores until I finally located a netting source which would help me to duplicate this look.

After posting some photos on my web site, a few brave brides decided to step out of the traditional attire and walk down the aisle wearing netting instead of tulle over their face.  Naturally, grooms, bridesmaids and families’ reaction was mixed as they had not seen this bold new style. And yet, once a few brides began wearing birdcage veils, brides from both the east and west coast liked what they saw and began requesting birdcage veils more and more.  Requests from the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia seemed to be next to request this unique new style. I now shipped birdcage veils to every state and to about 25 countries across the globe.

Birdcage veils or hat veils work best with trumpet or mermaid style dresses.  Any dress that is lace is complimented with the French net look of a birdcage veil. The birdcage can be as simple or as dramatic as the bride wants depending on the overall look that she is going for. Plus, photographers love to capture images of brides in birdcage veils…they are just so chic!
