What makes a wedding truly beautiful? Is it the picture perfect details, crafted with care by the bride and her maids? Is it the vows that come together into seemingly one piece of music? Is it the flowers or the food or the fun had dancing the night away? Yes, it’s all that. But when push comes to shove, the most beautiful part of a wedding is that when all stripped down and naked, it’s two people promising to love each other forever and ever. When we received this wedding, the beauty was obvious. The bride is glowy and gorgeous, the groom completely smitten. The flowers, the color palette, the perfect touches threaded through every last moment all made our hearts happy. But that wasn’t even half of the story.

From the photographer, Corey Ann… This wedding was a wish granted by Wish Upon a Wedding to Jon and Alyssa. Jon has terminal brain cancer and doesn’t have much longer to live and his dying wish was to marry his soulmate, Alyssa. The entire wedding was beautiful thanks to amazing donations from the talented group of vendors. Alyssa’s gown inspired the wedding design and the result was flawless.

We are so touched that Jon and Alyssa chose Style Me Pretty to share this with the world. It’s days like this one that remind us of just how important the heart of a wedding really is. The core, at it’s very purest form, is all about love. And love is the very first thing I saw when I opened this beautiful affair. Congratulations to Jon and Alyssa. Your wedding has touched our hearts just as it has your friends, family and the millions of people around the world that have shared your story.

From Inspiration to Reality: The Design

So we’ve already seen the gorgeous inspiration board that inspired today’s From Inspiration to Reality shoot…and I’m pretty sure that we’ve already fallen in love. Well, aside from the completely magical quality of this shoot, what I love the most, is that every detail is totally steal-worthy and can be applied to a very real wedding. From the color palette choices to the tablescapes, the paper goods and of course, the fashion! From Valarie at Kirkbrides…

Inspiration: For our Inspiration To Reality shoot, we chose the inspiration board based on a wedding style I’ve always wanted to create, and we named it “Moonlight Magic”. I just loved the picture of the couple dancing with the twinkle lights surrounding them and truthfully it reminded me of the movie Twilight just a bit! Our lighting technicians on board for the entire shoot time were the icing on the cake for us to get some amazing shots, as we were shooting until about 10pm that night!

Venue: We held the Inspiration To Reality shoot at Lantern Court, which is an old mansion donated by the family to Holden Arboretum in Kirtland, Ohio that would provide us with an amazing backdrop consisting of interesting interior and exterior architecture, as well as an infinite number of possibilities for outdoor nature shots.

Style: We decided to bring in vintage influences into the style and open up the color palette to include deep blues, purples, yellows and greens. We also wanted to bring in the idea of vintage brooches which seem to be popping up everywhere. Heather was able to make an all brooch bouquet, which we used for Jessa, our bride. Heather’s bridesmaid bouquet created for Liz was absolutely stunning with the purples, yellows and greens and she was able to include brooches with this piece as well.

Our bridesmaid dresses and accessories, all from Lizzy and Jane, lent a creative detail to our overall style and in my opinion worked perfectly with the 50’s feeling furniture and hanging glass ball candles! The petticoat used underneath, the shoe clips on her heels and the fun headbands went with the dresses perfectly.

Table: For the tablescape, Heather focused on the vibrant shades of yellow and green for the flowers, and we really thought this popped with the royal blue crinkle linen on the table and royal blue on the chair pads. Our stationery designed by Laura at Paper Allure gave the table just enough of a formal feel.

Cake + Sweets: Last but not least, the gorgeous cake designed by Bridget I believe compliments the blue hue perfectly without being overpowering. It’s simple but elegant with the single sugar flower and touch of crystal and brooch feel in the center. Her decadent sugar cookies looked too cute to eat! Genevieve and Brian from 2nd Mile captured this amazing array of style created by all of our vendors perfectly. The moonlight feel is something everyone dreams of and we completely enjoyed having the chance to create our OWN day!

Fashion: The blouson is from Rina Di Montella, exclusive to The Perfect Bride. The veil for this one is called “Rivini” from Toni Federici at The Perfect Bride. The headpiece is a rhinestone crystal and pearl piece called “Starfish” from Toni Federici. The soft lace dress is from WToo, called “Ariane”. The veil for this one is called “AwakenIng” from Toni Federici. The Headpiece is in soft gold pearls and crystals from Winters and Rain. The lace dress with the shoulder lace is from Paloma Blanca, exclusive to The Perfect Bride. The veil for this one is called “Luxury” from Toni Federici. The headpiece is a smaller rhinestone and pearl piece from Toni Federici called “Blissful”. Click the full gallery to see all of the dress styles.

From Inspiration to Reality: The Board

Just wait until you all see what we have in store for you today! It is time for another installment of our From Inspiration to Reality feature. We love, love these shoots because they have so many awesome tid bits that can be taken and integrated into your very own wedding or party. This shoot, headed up by Genevieve Nisly Photography, with design and coordination by Valarie Kirkbride and a host of amazing Ohio vendors, is sure to inspire all you brides to be. But before we get to all the juicy details, take a look at the inspiration board from Style Circle member Anita Olckers that started the inspiration wheels a turning.

Real Wedding: Natasha and Ronald – Russian “Ice” Inspired Wedding

Ronald and Natasha were married in an absolutely beautiful ceremony at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. Natasha and wedding planner, Valarie Kirkbride orchestrated a very unique Russian “Ice” celebration.

From Valerie,” When I first spoke with Natasha, she knew that she wanted an all white and cream wedding, with the only colors being the green of the flowers. I soon discovered that both of the bride and groom’s parents had moved to the US from Russia, so we started planning a loose “Ice” theme…

“The chuppah was designed with white fabric and hanging crystals strung with orchids.”

“The ballroom was up-lit in pale blue with leaf silhouettes to showcase the venue, the Botanical Gardens. Guests found their names on elegant rhinestone escort cards hung on white trees. The white satin linens and embroidered leaf organza overlays, chargers and specific silver flatware completed the settings. When guests found their tables, they were greeted with hand-made, personally calligraphied menus.”

“Natasha was born in Zhdanov, Ukraine. She and her parents immigrated to the United States when she was five years old. Through mutual friends and family, Ronald’s and Natasha’s paths crossed many times during the ensuing years, but it wasn’t until December 2003 that they fell in love. And as the saying goes, the rest is history!”
