From Bella Cupcake Couture & Crinoline & Tweed … This enchanting Paris-inspired tabletop display provides a peek inside of an intimate setting for two and is the perfect setting for one of the most special occasions – an engagement.

Bella Cupcake Couture in a collaboration with graphic designer, Astrid Mueller, had her create a proposal card which incorporated into this elegant display. We all imagined an evening scene in a Paris Cafe where a couple after sightseeing stopped by for a glass of red wine and dessert and he popped the question.  We pulled the color scheme from the proposal card and went with an Art Nouveau theme bringing in lush black and white prints accented with highlights of red.  Emici Bridal provided the silk flower brooch which we pinned to the napkin to create a surprising way to present the engagement ring.

Miki of Clara French Ceramique created an elegant tiered cake stand which was filled with cream puffs, eclairs, and beautiful berry tarts baked by Tallant House.  Trophy Cupcake baked up an assortment of pink frosted lemon raspberry and vanilla cream cupcakes which were set into black and white Lu Lu damask cupcake wrappers created by Bella Cupcake Couture. The flowers were arranged by Romanza Floral. This romantic tablescape was styled by Crinoline & Tweed  who also created a napkin band and floral wine glass coaster to compliment the setting. All photos were beautifully captured by Red Box Pictures –truly magnifique!

This elegant setting will make you and your guests feel like they are celebrating at a European Villa tea party.  We chose a lush cheery color palate of spring greens, blush pinks and buttery yellows and accented it with soft vintage floral motifs found on the vintage tea cups and tea pots collected.  Throw pillows, a rose table runner and cloth napkins were custom stitched to bring a custom touch to the table design.

The delectable entremet chocolate cake baked by Tallant House is sitting atop a Clara French scalloped pedestal ready to be served on her matching darling dessert plates. We nestled the vintage tea pots in between towers of Trophy cupcakes, a vibrant flower arrangement created by Romanza Floral and french macaroons by Tallant House.

Crinoline & Tweed’s handmade pillows spruced up a vintage couch and matched the gorgeous macaroons perfectly.

Each setting was dressed with its own one of a kind vintage tea cup, springy green dessert plate by Clara French a top a cream and gold vintage plate.  Crinoline & Tweed also made hand made dessert napkins and wrapped them in silk ribbon and found the perfect gold dessert flatware to match the gold etching on the cups and teapots.

The sweet place cards designed by Astrid Mueller welcomed each guest and also thanked them for attending this sweet affair. With so many Trophy cupcake flavors to pick from these are perfect for a shower setting as each guest can select her favorite flavors.  They look so pretty on the Clara French pink tiered dessert stand.  Each cupcake is dressed up in a Bella Cupcake Couture cupcake wrapper to match the color scheme.  This is a perfect theme for an intimate girly shower to celebrate with close friends and family.

A popular wedding color theme is Silver & White. Perfect for a couple who likes a clean, chic style or is planning a Winter Dream occasion.  This tabletop setting features a gilded silver mirror  as a sparkly backdrop which creates a modern Scandinavian style for the table softened with some feminine cut crystal accents.  Our stylists, Crinoline & Tweed  loaded the table with lit candles to balance the coolness of the icy silver and glass.  Silver and white modern place cards and an acrylic cake topper were designed by Astrid Mueller.

Our overall goal was to create textural warmth of soft whites and silvers.  A silver charger was topped with simple white china and layered with a decorative floral etched glass salad plate.  An assortment of vintage silver, crystal, and mercury glass candle holders in different shapes and heights were collected and scattered between the flowers and dessert centerpiece.  Keeping with our Scandinavian theme, we chose a repetitive modern shape for the champagne flutes, water glasses, and vases.

The centerpiece of desserts was built using layered Clara French cake stands.  Our photograph of a beautiful lace wedding dress inspired the lacy fondant covered cake baked by Tallant House.  We chose a variety of Trophy Cupcakes in shades of white and cream nestled inside Bella Cupcake Couture wrappers in a variety of silver and white textile-inspired designs. The flower arrangements were provided by Romanza Floral. This setting was in an intimate corner of the Tuscan Tea Room.

An exquisite display of simple elegance- your guests will be captivated by the dessert display and have a hard time picking which little treat to indulge in first.

From the Bride…As a wedding planner I always ask my brides to describe to me the ‘vibe & style’ they want to experience on the day of their wedding for themselves and their guests. I receive responses such as ‘elegant & sophisticated’, ‘care free & relaxed’, ‘romantic & classic’…but hands down, no matter what, the one word I always here is ‘fun’. I was not of original thought when I began to plan my own wedding. I wanted this to be the most FUN wedding anyone had been to! I wanted it to be a PARTY! So with that in mind my eager fiancé and I began to plan the fun on our engagement night!

My boyfriend of 4 ½ years and I had planned a party at our apartment on Friday the 15th for no reason at all other than to have a party. It wasn’t until that afternoon when I was cleaning the apartment when Sean came home with food and drinks for the party. To my surprise he also came home with the engagement ring that now sits on my finger!!  The ‘its Friday night, so why not have a party’ became our official engagement celebration and that’s where the planning began. The 1st item that made our wedding special was that after a few hours of drinking two of our best friends said ‘we should be the flower girl and ring bearer!!’…that would be Jake and Pat, both over 6’ tall and quickly reaching 30 years old. Done and done! Having those two arm in arm skipping down the aisle was a highlight for many guests!

We started the event by having guests get a signature drink, sitting down at their tables that they would sit later for dinner and enjoying a drink while they watched us get married! I LOVED the ceremony! It was short and sweet, about 10 minutes, but we packed it full of greatness. The best part was that we had this whole thing planned of doing a “shout out to the gays” about how we feel humbled to be able to get married and we hope to live in a country where everyone can have the same opportunity, etc. Well, NY passed same sex marriage the day before and our officiant (through the power of the internet) held up the NY Times and the crowd went wild! It was perfect! I only welled up once when my 8 year godson, Hudson read an EE Cummings poem, “I Carry Your Heart”…he can’t pronounce his ‘r’s quite yet and to hear him read it was the most adorable thing on the planet! Oh, and we excited down the aisle to James Brown, “I Feel Good” and had an impromptu mini dance off down the aisle, too fun!!

In close, I LOVED my wedding! I simply loved it! It was the best time ever! I don’t think I stopped smiling once. It was SO fun! We had in a single room all of the people we loved and they were there to celebrate us. It was amazing!

From Flora Nova Design … For their sophisticated winter wedding, Sarah and Steve wanted to create a streamlined yet elegant and warm atmosphere where their guests could relax and enjoy a great party.

The couple chose one of the most unique venues in town – Sodo Park by Herban Feast – a perfect location to pair the romantic-historic flair with contemporary-hip design details. The groom particularly liked the venue, originally built in 1907 as a factory to manufacture machinery, because of his background in construction and engineering.  He appreciated the exposed beams and unique characteristics such as the original trolley tracks that run through the venue. While the bride loved that Herban Feast uses sustainable and eco-friendly practices in their catering.  Both of them fell in love with the venue instantly and used it as inspiration for creating a unique wedding that infuses the past with the present, incorporating modern and vintage touches throughout the design.

Having been together for years, the couple desired to have an intimate ceremony for their family and friends followed by the best party their guests had ever been to.  Planning and designing this winter wedding with the couple was super fun, and once the initial ideas where thrown on the table (we decided on the wintery color palette of silver, white, slate blue and black), the details all came together quickly.

For the ceremony, guests were surrounded by floor to ceiling white draping which helped to divide the large factory-style room into a warm and personal space.  Winter white flowers lined the aisle illuminated by candle light and silver glass spheres, leading to an ultra-chic, illuminated arch adorned in orchids, roses, and hydrangea, and casting an ice blue glow over the ceremony space.  Tall sparkly branches, large hurricane candles, and large silver spheres also decorated the ceremony area.

After the ceremony, the wedding guests were treated to a special cocktail hour: Food was important to Sarah and Steve as they both love to eat out and try different cuisines with their friends.  Since they both love sushi, they decided to have a sushi chef hand-roll sushi rolls for guests during the cocktail hour.  To pay homage to their family roots, a “his and her” food station was also setup during the cocktail hour featuring family recipes from both sides.  For dinner, guests were served local Northwest faire in a three-course plated meal.  The bride has a sweet tooth and wanted to make sure that there was wide variety of desserts available for guests.  In addition to the wedding cake, petit desserts were served along with one of the most unique food items of the evening – dessert sushi.  Sara also loves her daily espresso and wanted to pay tribute to the Northwest culture by including an espresso bar for guest to enjoy in the warm yet wintery lounge areas.  As an added touch, their favorite espresso drinks were named after the couple and a raspberry hot chocolate was named after their little daughter.

For the reception, we created the perfect wintery atmosphere in a warm setting. We created long guest tables in a large U-shape, with the dance floor in the middle. The reception tables were decorated with great attention to detail: floral designs in varying heights featuring silver sparkly branches, flurry baby’s breath, fuzzy Dusty Miller foliage, and “cool” blooms like blue hydrangea, white roses, and orchids; hundreds of glassy baby votive candles in shades of blue and white added a warm glow to the tables; silver sparkly linens; a white orchid tucked into each napkin together with the menu card; silver rimmed charger plates; submersible lights inside the flower vases, and lots more.

Another beautiful focal point of the evening was the gorgeous wedding cake, which in a subtle nod to winter, featured handcrafted sugar snowflakes paired with a black satin ribbon. The cake was surrounded by a thick layer of flowers, forming the shape of a large snow flake.
