From Leo Timoshuk Photography…I knew from the first time I met Victoria & Michael that there was something special about them. Victoria loves to read, she brought books. Michael loves to give Victoria flowers, so he brought some flowers. They love to take walks together so that’s exactly what we did. A walk in the park in the summer evening with flowers, books, and a picnic themed shoot. It was perfect. We laughed more than anything. It was a perfect summer evening filled with romance. Everything was real! The evening ended with a love letter written to Michael that Victoria read (he didn’t know anything about it). It was a great evening & it was more than special to have captured these memories for Victoria & Michael.

From Athalia’s Photography…Ringa and Arief is the sweetest and cutest couple I know! They made me realize how little things that we share with our loved ones can mean so much, a ride in the park, a bowl of soup to share, and just lying down in the park enjoying the breeze of cool air on a summery day. Their laughter and smiles were so contagious, we had too much fun taking their sweet little day out!

Rancho Santa Fe is nestled in the hills of San Diego where the air is crisp and the sun is warm.  The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is one of the most alluring boutique hotels in the world. It’s old world guest cottages are as charming and beautiful as this wedding’s summertime theme. Catherine from CBS Life Stylist produced this romantic wedding where the ceremony took place under the giant historic pepper tree located on the front lawn.  Tam from Isari Flower Studio designed the event with an amorous setting of flowers ranging from garden roses, hydrangeas, tulips, freesias with dahlias and other unexpected orchids, cobra lilies to name a few. Two enormous floral arrangements bordered the altar and was accompanied with her signature flower confetti heart-shaped design that encircled our beautiful couple.

The charm is carried through to dinner with elegant trumpeted silver stands topped with garden confetti of loosely arranged summer flowers. These romantic centerpieces sat on crisp white linens and napkins, and complimented by quaint Chinese lanterns overhead all provided by Concept Events. Gorgeous hand-painted table numbers were designed by Lusana from a Queen’s Scribe. The exuberant dinner music by Pat Fitzpatrick turned to a dance party immediately post feast where lounge furniture from Lounge Appeal was abundant.  All the emotion and details was captured by the photography duo of Studio Duva and videography was provided by Bell Video. Both the Bride and Groom are so much in love and it reflects the joyous and romantic occasion.

From Villa Parker … At their time of booking, Catie had just finished her Masters in Literature, explained that the day would be book-themed and that their beloved dog, Oberon would attend. Furthermore, she explained that she was also handmaking ALL of the bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces!

Their wedding was just as amazing as I expected – it was relaxed and fun –  filled with old friends, new friends and lots of loving family. Their details were perfect – The “Table of Contents” directed guests to their table, each of which was named after an author that had meaning to Catie and Derek.

The handmade bouquets, a total of nine, flower girl wands, and eight boutonnieres were all made out of thrift store book pages and colorful paper by Catie.  The favors, baby jars filled with chocolate covered espresso beans were collected by friends with babies for the couple over the course of time leading up to their day.  The ceterpieces, so simple, yet so fitting were old books, mason jars with candles and more of Catie’s perfect handmade flowers sprinkled here and there.   It was a wonderful evening in every way.

From Courtney … Jimmy & Jeannie are a super fun couple. I mean it! Jeannie is tiny but a big ball of energy – she’s full of life and her smile lights up a room. Jimmy is a little more laid back – probably the more “introverted” one of the two. When I first met with Jimmy & Jeannie they were coming out of a negative experience with a previous wedding planner. They both had high hopes and a solid vision of what they wanted their big day to look and feel like; however, they needed someone who was a better match for them. During our first meeting I could tell Jeannie was holding back a bit, somewhat guarded. But by the time we wrapped up she was bouncing and laughing and so excited for her big day! They needed someone who heard their desires and was willing to bring them to life. I’m honored I go to be that someone!

Jimmy & Jeannie wanted a day that respected the tradition of marriage while providing a place for their guests to celebrate and dance the night away. One of the biggest challenges with their wedding was to find a way to keep both the couple and their parents happy. Their parents wanted something traditional – ceremony in a church with a reception at the country club. Due to the number of guests and that most of them were out of town, Jimmy & Jeannie wanted to keep the festivities all in one place. The location finally chosen was the Coastline Convention Center in downtown Wilmington. Although this space is old it has character – exposed brick walls, original doors and views of the Cape Fear River. The best part of the space, for me, is that is was a big, empty box! We had the space and ability to go any way we wanted with the design.

For the wedding ceremony, we tried to keep things as traditional as possible all while taking into account our surroundings. We washed the room in soft white lights, used natural chiavari chairs and lined the aisle with nine foot cherry trees to create a canopy. We created a back drop for the bride and groom by draping white curtain liners and flooded it with soft, white light. A string trio played a mix of traditional and contemporary music.

For the reception, Jimmy stepped up to the plate and let his wishes be known – modern all the way. And then one word from Jeannie – FLOWERS! I heard her say, on multiple occasions, “I want to spend my entire budget on flowers”. She’ s a girl after my own heart! Jeannie’s favorite flower is a peony, next to impossible in July. However, Wendy Wright of A Beautiful Event, was our hero when she showed up with bucket after bucket of gorgeous peonies! To give the room a modern feel, we washed it with deep pink lights from the rafters to create a glow that put everyone in the mood to dance! The tables were covered in a slate colored linen and clusters of flowers that ranged from deep pink all the way up to pale pink took center stage. To throw in a twist of the traditional, we used full place settings even though food was stationed throughout the room.

I knew our goal of giving enough tradition for the parents and enough modern for the couple when the mother of the bride walked into the ceremony space and tears streamed down her face while saying “I never knew this could be so beautiful. She quickly called her husband who rushed over. As soon as he walked in, he uttered the same sentiment. When Jeannie & Jimmy saw the reception space Jeannie’s response was “This. Is. Amazing.”

In short, the day was all they had hoped for and more.

from The Garden Party Sisters …

Kari and Dave were married this past August at Kari’s family home. They were a fun loving couple that wanted their wedding to be full of bright colors and fun details. This is a couple that chose to get married with their dog by their side (dressed for the day with a brand new bandanna that said ‘I do too’), how much more fun can you get than that?!?!

Kari carried a bouquet of orange mini gerbers, yellow tulips, orange calla lilies, protea, hot pink spray roses and gorgeous pink dahlias (hand selected by a local grower). A dazzling rhinestone brooch was added to bring in the little bit of bling! The bridesmaids carried bouquets of similar flowers with multi colored ribbon wrap and beaded fringe – so cute!

We grew up with Kari, so seeing her looking so stunning on her wedding day was that much more special to us. It was important to us that Kari’s ceremony site really be eye catching. We did swirls of rose petals down the aisle, hung bi-colored gerber daisies from the chairs, and covered the arbor in a floral arch. Orange and pink were the colors of the day, and they sure did stand out!

It can be steamy in August here in South Jersey, so each guest was given a little fan and a beer cozy. Under the tent were centerpieces of tropical flowers. On each table a picture of the couple was attached. Instead of being numbered the tables were named to describe the picture on the table. Their was a table showing their first date, and many places that they had vacationed together.

Kari and Dave’s was a wedding to remember and we hope you enjoy all the fun details as much as we do!

Sarah ~ today’s beautiful bride ~ did NOT want to do a first look session. But, sometimes you gotta’ do what you gotta’ do. And her wedding day timing dictated a first look. According to Carla (on her blog), Sarah & Jose’s first look session now ranks as one of her personal all-time favorites!

Let’s back it up a bit … a few of the details.

After some fabulous first look shots and loads of wedding party fun in Central Park, when Sarah and Jose met once again, it was as if they were seeing each other for the first time!

The reception was held at The Central Park Boathouse and was full to overflowing with brilliant colors, yummy cupcakes and love oozing out of every nook and cranny …

From Sarah … Jose and I met through his best friend and one of my best friends (who are actually a married couple). We met at a bar one night, but it wasn’t until our friends had a New Year’s Eve party that we really connected.  Jose struck up a conversation with me and I was immediately intrigued by his cute accent and good looks. Long story short, the ball dropped at midnight and he kissed me … the rest is history. Carla has posted a ton of gorgeous photos from Sarah and Jose’s wedding on her blog {here}. Lots and lots of beauty!
