This next set of pictures from Bonnie and Trevor’s Nashville wedding is pure deliciousness. They look like they are right out of some fabulous movie…

The entire wedding just seems so alive, so completely down to earth. Here are a few more details from Bonnie…

At the reception we really used the farm aesthetic, but in an elegant way. There were long tables in the tent which were topped with burlap. Down the tables were a mix of peonies and dahlias in various silver julep cups mixed in with chicken feeders, with wheat grass growing out of them. Everyone feasted on a big southern supper – chicken croquettes, green beans, cheese grits and bbq in corn meal crepes – just to give you a taste.

We danced the night away then pulled away on the hay wagon as guests waved sparklers!

Southern weddings hold a certain magic. The moss on the oak trees and the smell of magnolia blooms conjure up memories of spending time with close family and age-old traditions passed down from generation to generation. The Southern Weddings print edition and daily blog were created for the savvy modern Southern bride who wants to take these traditions and make them her own. We are huge fans of Style Me Pretty and are thrilled to be guest blogging today. Thank you so much, Abby, for asking us to share a little Southern charm with your readers.

A Wedding Soiree by Tara Guerard, III

A few more tid-bits from the oh-so-chic Tara Guerard…

Top Left: The lounge tent was lined in copper and blue and had chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. We had wicker chaises and sofas with matching pillows and throws! Picture perfect!

Top Right: Jim Smeal makes the most amazing and delicious cakes! They were designed after the bride’s lace on her dress!

Center: We had three cakes, all had different layers and favors! Since we can get a bit obsessive, one favorite had to be blueberry to match our color scheme!

Bottom Left: For the send off we placed rose petals in a simple mesh bag with a tag that read “tied the nott!” We had to incorporate the bride’s last name of “nott”, all the way through… starting with the guests bags and ending with their send off.

A bit more from Tara Guerard of Soiree’s amazing real wedding…

From Tara…

Top Left: The bride and groom took home the top of the chuppah as a memory from their ceremony.

Center: I love to use a word or phrase and incorporate it throughout the wedding. It just adds a bit of personality! It can be their name or something special to the bride and groom, whatever you want! In this case, the bride’s last name was Nott. The guests bags were simple tots with a tag that read “were tying the nott.” It was filled with a local magazine, two bottled waters and custom designed cookies! A great way to welcome your guests!

Bottom Left: We handmade the flower girl’s purse to hold the rose petals and had simple ribbon ties to go around her wrist…so cute!

Bottom Right: Beautiful long stemmed roses were chosen for the bride’s bouquet!

A Wedding Soiree by Tara Guerard

We have big news at Style Me Pretty! I’ve kept it hush, hush for 9 whole months, but there is no hiding it now. I am having my first little girl…as we speak!! I am actually being induced this morning, so…in the past few weeks, I’ve recruited the help of some of my favorite Little Black Book members to keep you inspired and excited, while I take a bit of time to get to know our little bundle of beauty.

We have some of the most innovative and talented people participating in our guest blog feature and I really can’t wait to show you all of the incredible ideas and experiences that they have to share with you. So, let’s get right to it!

First up, the oh-so-talented Tara Guerard of Soiree in Charleston, and the author of the hugely successful book Southern Weddings!!

From Tara…“A Wedding Soiree by Tara Guerard”

Top Left: The front doors of the synagogue were adorned with cute little wreaths hanging by copper satin ribbon. The color copper was chosen because it matched the bride’s hair color!

Center: A great way to make an impact for the centerpiece without spending a lot of money; is to use a single stem of your favorite flower and place it in a beautiful dish. We used a single peony in a compote dish..so elegant! Use lots of votives too!

Bottom right: For the satin chuppah, we custom made the panels and top so one side was blue and the other was copper. The tie backs where made with blue satin ribbon, knotted with white cymbidium orchards! So pretty!

This wedding is so insanely beautiful, but honestly…what else would you expect from a talent like Tara! Stay tuned, we have more to come!

I really think that when you are at a loss for inspiration…find the best photographer you can and pour over their portfolio. That is exactly what I spent the evening doing with Liz Banfield, the brilliant photographer that shot the photos for Southern Weddings. Her work is stunning and incredibly inspiring…

Liz has also done a lot of work for Martha Stewart, InStyle and Town & Country. All beautiful shots. Liz is such a talent and I am so excited for you to spend some time looking at her work…
