This is one of those shoots that can inspire and inspire and inspire. There are so many incredible little ideas tucked inside, so many perfect details that would suit just about any style of wedding…thanks to the oh-so-talented Margaret Van Damme. Take for example the textiles. Bringing in textiles, like great throw pillows and linens, into your wedding decor, will automatically bring in a sense of warmth and style. They can be contemporary for a more modern feel or vintage for a more relaxed vibe. They can be really graphic with pops of print or they can be soft and subtle to add a bit of texture.

Another little token…mismatched decor. Even if you are having 200 people at your wedding, you can still bring in elements of mismatched elegance. For our wedding, we scoured ebay and flea markets for different variations of champagne saucers and dessert plates. Although we needed a pretty big room to store it all, the end result was SO worth it. Mismatched vases and bottles to hold florals, mismatched china and drinkware, mismatched linens, napkins, votives…the list is endless. As long as you stick with the same general theme or style, the look will be lovely.

Vintage Wedding by Van Damme Weddings

We have been scoring some seriously gorgeous weddings and editorial shoots lately and this one, photographed by the always talented Little Black Book members, Andrew + Katrina of Sedona Bride, just might jump to the top of our favorites list. It’s STUNNING. Seriously stunning. The photo shoot was designed by Margaret of Van Damme Weddings (also a Little Black Book member) and was styled around this really warm, vintage look that we are loving these days. Bringing the indoors out so that your wedding seems super intimate, effortlessly elegant.

First of all, the color palette…the pinks and oranges, with pops of graphic patterns in the linens and accents of worn leather. It’s an incredible combination and although you can tell someone really talented is behind the design, it also seems to have that “straight out of the kitchen” look that screams cozy. I love, love, love what Margaret has done and I promise, the pictures just keep getting better and better!

The shoot took place at Page Springs Cellars located just about 10 minutes south of gorgeous Sedona, Arizona. It was all about mismatched, 40’s inspired elegance with an eclectic collection of plates and cups, vintage postcards, vintage linens and perfect little details. Hair and Make-Up was done by Patricia Vega and Flowers by the fabulous Bliss Extraordinary Floral. We have so much more coming up in just a bit!

Elope To Sedona And Feel The Joy ~ From Sedona Bride

After being mesmerized by the astonishing cover shoot and 10th Anniversary Bride and Groom Magazine party that Sedona Bride shot, I spent some time looking around their website and blog. I noticed that there were several really gorgeous weddings that were elopements. I started thinking about elopements and started reading … in particular, about how how popular Sedona, Arizona has become for elopements. And I have to admit, that I got kind of curious. Who elopes? Why do they elope? Do they eventually regret it? Where do they go? So I started doing some reading … and I now have a much healthier respect for those who make this decision. I now realize that eloping doesn’t preclude family. Eloping doesn’t preclude celebration, and eloping for so many couples … can be just as magical and perfect as any other wedding! Katrina & Andrew of the oh-so-talented Sedona Bride have provided us with the stunning proof!

Dazzling Spring Wedding at L’Auberge de Sedona From Sedona Bride Photography: Tara and Micah

We tried something new, yesterday on The Little Black Book Blog. We added to the posts through-out the day. Just in case you didn’t get to see them all, we’ll hold off on adding another featured wedding for a bit. Tara & Micah’s wedding colors are jaw-droppingly beautiful! The details and the stunning photography was provided by the very talented Katrina + Andrew of Sedona Bride.

The Story From Katrina and Andrew, Sedona Bride:

Tara and Micah are both anthropologists and share a love of Morocco. That proved to be the inspiration for their magnificent wedding décor. A semi-traditional Jewish ceremony was held underneath an Aspen-wood chuppah. Decorative etched and colored glass votives with palm leaves adorned the cocktail tables and fireplace. Brilliantly colored Moroccan style sock lamps hung on the perimeter of the cocktail hour terrace. Metal Moroccan lanterns added warmth and ambience to the already beautiful space. A signature engagement book with images taken by Sedona Bride was proudly displayed. Table centerpieces consisted of decorative lamps, colored-glass votives, spices, citrus fruits and flowers typical of Morocco, all sprinkled liberally around the center … and uniquely shaped perfume bottles with elaborate cork tops. Tables were named after cities in Morocco (Rabat, Marrakesh, Merzouga,etc.). Their guests favors were stunning traditional Moroccan perfume bottles. All of the fabulous décor and florals were designed by Events by Showstoppers. The cake … oooh the cake … details were made by pressing an eastern fabric textile pattern stamp onto soft cake fondant, and then hand-painted with edible cake paint. The cake was enveloped in a Moroccan-style tent/canopy.

Tara and Micah were married on May 18th, 2008. Family and friends came to Sedona from literally all over the world. Because Tara has spent so much time in Morocco, the cocktail hour and reception followed an amazing Moroccan theme. Just stepping into the reception area was like entering a new world, with amazing and vibrant colors! The fabulous Liz Margin worked her magic on the makeup. Andrea Blaut made the **amazing** Moroccan style cake. Jim, Ken, and their team at Events by Showstoppers made the chuppah for the ceremony, and orchestrated the fabulous Moroccan themed floral and decor for the cocktail hour and reception.

Seems like today might be a good day for us to post some lovely real brides and their lovely real wedding gowns!

I’m not exactly sure when the photo-journalistic style of wedding photography began, but I do know that now, it is pretty much an industry standard. Little Black Book photographers, Katrina and Andrew from Sedona Bride have taken this art to an all new height. See what I mean …

There are no words. It’s just that beautiful.

Katrina & Andrews’ website is chock-full of incredibly avant-guarde photos. Cathedral Rock may not be your wedding destination, but these guys have captured so-so many detail shots that you will literally swoon. Be sure to take a look … and take notes.

Katrina and Andrew at Sedona Bride have been sweet enough to share a few more details about this gorgeous wedding with us…

From Katrina and Andrew (via their blog)…

This was a really fun wedding and we enjoyed our time with this madly in love couple.They were open to almost any creative suggestions we had, and were very excited about us being present with them that day.

The evening ended with an intimate dinner for the couple, their families, and their closest friends. The ambiance was romantic, happy, and very mediterranean, complete with an evening nip in the air, patio fireplace, and candlelights.

This was a difficult wedding to coordinate, given that there were multiple jeeps and hikers, and then also so many locations around Sedona involved. JB at Sedona Luxury Weddings did a fabulous job and we really enjoyed working with her.

The beautiful floral work was by Bliss Extraordinary. Pink Jeeps provided transportation to and from Chicken Point. And lastly, amazing classical Spanish and latin guitar during the ceremony and reception was preformed by one of our favorite local guitarists, Brian David.

I wanted to share a few more details from today’s breathtaking wedding, photographed by the oh-so-talented team at Sedona Bride…

From Andrew and Katrina at Sedona Bride…

The couple was married at Chicken Point in Sedona…Chicken Point is a red rock promontory that overlooks the south end of Broken Arrow. Broken Arrow, for which at least one old western from 1950 was named, is a natural valley situated among an amazing collection of red rocks and mountains, and would take literally years to explore. Chicken Point is accessible only by Jeep, horse, or a long, long walk! As you’ll see in the images below, we took jeeps

Real Wedding by Sedona Bride

Sedona Bride is one of the most talented photography teams out there and I am thrilled to post this wedding that they sent me! First, the INSANELY gorgeous pictures…

The bride is half East-Indian and her dress was handmade in India. She surprised her fiance with her traditional attire and unbeknownst to her, he donned a traditional men’s gown for the affair. Gorgeous. The combination of the absolutely beautiful fashion, paired with the stark beauty of the location turned into a STUNNING affair with pictures that should be in a magazine!
