Well, fortunately for all of us, the bride was kind enough to stop by with a super do-able DIY project for the darling little confetti containers she made for her own wedding. From Sarah…

PAPER FUNNELS FOR CONFETTI OR ROSE PETALS

Materials needed:

Thickish Paper (I used the luxe fino cream cover weight paper from paper source)
Double stick tape
Xacto Knife or Paper cutter
Ink Jet printer

1. I used the creme paper from Paper-Source and printed a pattern on both sides of an 8.5″ x 11″ paper. However you could also use any two sided patterned paper (usually found in scrapbooking supplies)

2. Cut the paper down to 6″ squares.

3. Dog ear the paper on one edge about 1″ in, so that the folded part runs to a point at the corner.

4. Run double stick tape along the folded edge.

5. Take the opposite corner from the folded edge and the most folded in corner and bring them together. (then press down so the double stick tape sticks)

6. Then create your labels. I again printed on plain paper.

7. Cut the labels out. (mine say… After “I Do” Please shower the newlyweds as they walk down the aisle)

8. I used double stick tape to then adhere the labels as well.

9. Then fill them with confetti or rose petals. I had them in baskets for people to pick up at the ceremony.

Katie and Davis’ December ’08 wedding was sent to us by Little Black Book member Gemini Event Planning. Meg helped them in arranging the most amazing day of their lives. And ~ the images provided to us by THE PHOTOGRAPHERS are honestly beyond beautiful!

Here’s a little of their story from Meg at Gemini Event Planning …

Katie and Davis, two aspiring actors from Houston, met at a gathering which they have since described as “the worst poetry reading ever.” Davis skirted his boredom that night by watching an amazing redhead. Soon thereafter, he discovered that Katie is not only gorgeous but quite an accomplished vocalist. She won Best Female Vocalist and Best Folk/Acoustic by the Houston Press in both 2006 and 2007. This is where their story began and it wasn’t long before the two were inseparable.

They hosted an intimate winter wedding in the mountains of Colorado, since Texans that stay in Texas for their vows tend to have weddings as big as their state. Winter weddings in Beaver Creek are wonderful because one actually hopes for precipitation. This time we were lucky! The abundance of fresh powder was amazing for early December. Katie and Davis hosted their rehearsal dinner at the 4 Eagle Ranch just outside Beaver Creek with a western theme, mountain sunset, timeless toasts and stories. They were married on December 6th, 2008 at SaddleRidge in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

This night continued the theme of the west, but introduced an elegant and warm feel to the wedding day with rich florals and candlelight. Friends and family surrounded Katie and Davis for the wedding ceremony, wrapped around the grand staircase.

The highlight of the evening was a ballad sung by the bride to the groom. Lots of love….the room never felt warmer.

And from the lovely bride …

We live in Houston, Texas. We chose to be married in Colorado for a few reasons, the main one being we knew we wanted to have a relatively small destination wedding so that we would truly enjoy and remember every minute of the experience. We knew ourselves well enough to know that a smaller event was more our speed. Our priorities were our band, our photographer, and finding a fun and easygoing wedding planner ~ so that is where we started!

Meg Stepanek was our God-sent wedding planner and she made everything from beginning to end not only easy…but FUN! We loved being with Meg and all I can remember each time we talked or worked on something was laughing the whole time!

Our photographers ~ THE PHOTOGRAPHERS’ work is just truly amazing and we were SO excited to have them be a part of our wedding.  Jos really takes time to get to know each couple and just made our wedding even more fun and memorable.

I am a musician and my friend and band-mate Paul Beebe fronts a Beatles tribute band called ‘Beetle’.  We knew the dance floor would be crowded all night with Beetle providing their awesome tunes.  Who doesn’t love the Beatles?

My advice if you plan to wed in Colorado: find Meg, get Jos lined up, and choose music that all of your guests will enjoy and want to dance to all night long! We recommend Beetle!

And … we wish Katie great success for the future, not only as the new Mrs. Rushing … but in her musical career as well!

A few details of the day from Victoria, Laura & Brian’s ever-so-talented wedding coordinator …

The adorable couple wed at The Royal Palms Resort & Spa on a gorgeous Arizona fall afternoon. Before the ceremony, Laura surprised guests with root beer, green apple, and orange cream Jones Sodas adorned with photos of Laura and Brian’s long history together.

The ceremony décor was soft and elegant with brilliant colors of red, orange and brown. Rose petals covered the aisle spelling out the letter “S” with a pop of color. At the end of the ceremony, guests tossed rose petals to Laura and Brian’s “rosy future” and for the cocktail hour, the vintage photo theme continued … the guests seating was indicated when they picked up chocolate brown boxes. On top of the custom label was the guest’s name. When they opened the box, their table number was nestled in a bed of orange rose petals and the lid of the box showed photos of the bride & groom’s dating history … the prom, a trip to Paris, their first date…

The gorgeous cake design was based on Laura’s Ramona Keveza wedding gown and the brooch that sparkled on the top tier was taken from a formal dress Laura wore on a date with Brian.

The reception exuded warmth and matched the elegant feel of the Royal Palm’s Salon with different shades of taupe, brown and gold.

Guests were treated to a delicious plated meal, and then the party started! Laura changed her hair and the music picked up. Guests were able to change out of their high heels and into flip flops as the dancing began because “happy feet are dancing feet!” A photo booth provided fun favors for all of the guests and more vintage photos were displayed throughout the reception.

As the night went on, guests indulged themselves in a chocolate decadence bar for some tasty treats to take with them. Laura and Brian started their rosy future while surrounded by family, friends and spectacular memories.

Just one more perfect example of combining pure elegance with classic fun!  Congratulations Laura & Brian!

Elle and Todd were married this spring at The Green Uptown in Charlotte, NC. Their gray, pink, fuschia, purple {and every shade in-between} color palette was their inspiration and boy did they run with it! What a perfect palette for oodles and oodles of rose petals, crystals and orchids …

… not to mention a clear tent, silver chivari chairs, stunning linens and … well, you get the picture!

From Courtenay at Weddings And The City …

Elle had envisioned her wedding day all of her life! She knew exactly what she wanted! The BIG day took place in uptown Charlotte, at The Green, with the ceremony on the top tier, cocktail hour on the middle tier and the reception on the bottom tier in a clear top tent. Although Mother Nature worked against us most of the day, it stopped just in time for the ceremony and held off during the reception. It was absolutely gorgeous and full of color!

Elle, today’s beautiful bride, was raised by her grandparents. She knew that someday, somehow, she would find that same true love that they had shared ~ a love filled with absolute care and respect. She vowed to settle for nothing less.  After her grandfather passed away, her devotion to her grandmother and her dream to find the same kind of love that her grandparents had shared, eventually led her to Todd.

I know it sounds cliché, but I knew from the first moment we locked eyes that we had a connection. Todd is everything and more I could have ever hoped for. Todd is my fairytale ending and one of the most amazing people I have ever met.

We thank both of you, Elle & Todd for reminding us that old-fashioned love and devotion still rules! And thanks to Kristin, Courtenay (WATC) and all of the other fabulous vendors who helped this day become Elle & Todd’s fairy-tale day come true!

Carla Ten Eyck is just that … amazing …

Carla Ten Eyck captured Samar and Shane’s exquisite multi-cultural wedding that spanned three glorious days.  There is no way that we can do this incredible celebration justice. We simply want to show you, brag to you, how great Carla and her incredible team are.

Samar and Shane’s wedding weekend …

The wedding took place in Hudson, NY. It was a three day Pakistani and Irish wedding celebration. Friday night the family held a Mehndi ceremony in the beautiful barn at Oak Hill Estate in the Hudson River Valley. These celebrations are traditionally women only, but Shane and Samar invited the men to participate as well. During the ceremony they sat together in a swing while guests came up to offer them blessings. After the blessings there were traditional dances upstairs in the barn. Saturday was the formal wedding ceremony. Samar’s father officiated the ceremony, and the bridesmaids carried wooden bowls full of rose petals instead of bouquets. Floral decor was by Little Black Book member, Linda Baldwin Flowers.

Shane and Samar’s incredible celebration proves without a doubt that if you are lucky enough to have Carla and her team ~ Mike Romano, Katie Slater and Graham Scobey ~ you will have memories … and a friend who will last a lifetime!

Congratulations Samar & Shane on an absolutely phenomenal wedding! And Carla, well as we’ve said before … sheer beauty!!

The Story From Katrina and Andrew, Sedona Bride:

Tara and Micah are both anthropologists and share a love of Morocco. That proved to be the inspiration for their magnificent wedding décor. A semi-traditional Jewish ceremony was held underneath an Aspen-wood chuppah. Decorative etched and colored glass votives with palm leaves adorned the cocktail tables and fireplace. Brilliantly colored Moroccan style sock lamps hung on the perimeter of the cocktail hour terrace. Metal Moroccan lanterns added warmth and ambience to the already beautiful space. A signature engagement book with images taken by Sedona Bride was proudly displayed. Table centerpieces consisted of decorative lamps, colored-glass votives, spices, citrus fruits and flowers typical of Morocco, all sprinkled liberally around the center … and uniquely shaped perfume bottles with elaborate cork tops. Tables were named after cities in Morocco (Rabat, Marrakesh, Merzouga,etc.). Their guests favors were stunning traditional Moroccan perfume bottles. All of the fabulous décor and florals were designed by Events by Showstoppers. The cake … oooh the cake … details were made by pressing an eastern fabric textile pattern stamp onto soft cake fondant, and then hand-painted with edible cake paint. The cake was enveloped in a Moroccan-style tent/canopy.

Tara and Micah were married on May 18th, 2008. Family and friends came to Sedona from literally all over the world. Because Tara has spent so much time in Morocco, the cocktail hour and reception followed an amazing Moroccan theme. Just stepping into the reception area was like entering a new world, with amazing and vibrant colors! The fabulous Liz Margin worked her magic on the makeup. Andrea Blaut made the **amazing** Moroccan style cake. Jim, Ken, and their team at Events by Showstoppers made the chuppah for the ceremony, and orchestrated the fabulous Moroccan themed floral and decor for the cocktail hour and reception.
